Question is THIS under warranty?

i was looking around the forums and found this picture. i have the same situation on my driver side door. does anyone else have the same problem? will this be covered under warranty or will the dealerships just try to go around this problem? any answers will be greatly appreciated.

I had mine replaced once already....it's starting to peel away again. I'm still under warranty, so that should be covered for me the next time I take my car in.

But if you leave it, it may peel away even more and by the time you're out of warranty, it will look like crap. Maybe you can just paint the yellow foam black so it won't look too terrible.

Mine is doing this too but only started after the warranty expired. I've looked into a new part which is $62-$78 but I'm worried about trying to install it myself. not sure how to lift the switch plate for the windows, mirrors out.

I had this happen to me.

Solution:
-Remove entire door panel. This is not very hard, 1 screw under the arm area, one screw by the handle. The rest are just snaps. If you search there is a thread telling you how to remove it.
-Once it is off, you will see that section can be removed by about a dozen screws.
-Once removed from the rest of the door panel, I took some extra strength crazy glue, and glued that little groove (you can see it in the picture above). I then wrapped the section i glued in paper, then taped it tightly with packaging tape and let it sit. I wrapped it in paper first so the tape wouldn't stick to the paneling. I let it sit for about 20-30 minutes, and it is all better.

was the dealership helpful in replacing/fixing that part? or did they give you problems about that since its such a minor issue? the reason i'm asking is because where i live, there aren't many dealers that givva rats @$$ about minor problems, ex; right muffler hangs lower that left muffler (common problem in CL's)

no problems from the dealer to fix it....they saw it and acknowledged it. same goes for the dash, had that replaced too because it started to peel away. i think the material they used isn't that great....too soft and can tear or rip easily (the foam, that is). my door panels are starting to tear away again....i may have them fix it again before warranty expires.

Wow i thought i was the only one... I am headed to the dealership... I hope it is covered, however they sold the car to me like that as a Cert-PreOwned.

No loaner, I'm guessing...

Does the TL have the same problem?

Thanks guys...

It seems like this is pretty common. I have the tan interior with the wood grain. I wonder what color I can use....

... The reason...
Acura Care is a limited bumper-to-bumper warranty. It only covers defects in parts if they are engine parts. If they put it through Acura would decline...

My next step is to get the Used Car Dept to pay for the fix (I was there when I bought the car)...

Round 1 The Spazzz:0 Acura: 1

Round 2...

Any update on this? I noticed mine is doing it as well. I'm going to Palm Beach Acura. It's a 30 miniute drive up the turnpike, but I really don't trust any of the other dealers.

Yes... Martin is still there...

Update: Still waiting on the dealership to receive the part... it have been a week and a half... It is kinda funny, when I had my car there for the first time, they had the part the same day, and wanted to fix it. Now the have to "order" it.

Who knows???? They are probably hoping that I will forget.... (I don't think so).

Don't know how to describe it... but, I will try...

On the driver's door, it is the piece next to the window control where the trim meets. The original post should have a pic....

Don't know about that. My 2 old CL's & all my friends CL's & TL's don't have this problem. This new CL I have does though.
