Umm we got a problem

Since i aint too great with mechanics, since the recent snow storm i took the car out today on the highway nice and clear so i pushed it a little considering the conditions, but the odd thing is that 59mph and below the car rides smooth, 60mph and up the whole damn car shakes and vibrates like its falling apart. Anyone experience this or know what this can be, i have an appointment for tuesday at Acura to have them check it out but what can it be

Check if the tires need to be balanced.

Could be tire balancing, could be alignment ... could be a few different suspension related things.

Easiest thing to check first though ... tire pressure! When its cold out, your tires can lose tire pressure like crazy, so you really should check the tire pressure every once in awhile. If you don't already have one, goto your local auto parts store or even Target or Walmart and pickup a digital tire pressure gauge. They're about $10 at most. If you dont have enough air and you don't have an air compressor to pump up your tires, most gas stations have one that you can use for free.

Dont waste $60 at Acura to have them tell you that your tire pressure was low, check that out first.

When you check the tire pressure take a good look at the wheels and wheel wells. A chunk of ice stuck in the wrong place can make the wheel vibrate like crazy.

Good luck,

tires being low in pressure will not cause a vibration at 60 mph. unless it has no air in it. and if its suspension something is broken. however alighnment being out will not casue a vibration. it would cause a pull. you would have to hit somehing for your alighnment to be out. yes alighnment can be affected by pot holes. but it would have to be some serious potholes. the alightment on the front of CL-S is a tie rod for toe and a seperate bolt for caster. check the lock nuts on the tierods. make sure they are tight. i beleive its a 17 or 19mm wrench.

Sounds like ice/snow screwing up wheel balance.

As the other have said, check for ice and snow on the wheel. Tire pressure CAN be a problem too. When your tire pressure is too low and it is sitting for a while it can cause a flat spot on the tire which can give the impression of being out of balance.

Key words people - recent snow storm and car suddenly shaking at freeway speeds. 9/10 it's snow or ice packed in the wheels.
