Have and 01 CL Type S with 73K miles.Currently on 2nd tranny (first one crapped out at 47K miles). I currently live in Central NJ and will be moving to the mountains of Orange County NY in the Spring.
I'm trying to decide if I should dump my car after I move. My main concern is that when the 100K warranty on the tranny exprires, my tranny is going to crap out again. Also I want to make the decision before I put more money in my car for timing belt replacement and possible OPDS replacement (my SRS light has been on for a while and one dealer told me that the whole unit needs to be replaced for about $1,000).
Since my new residence will be taking most of my $$$, if I do trade in the car ( and get about $10K trade in) I was looking at something more practical like a Subaru RS Wagon. The Subie will be cheaper on gas, handle better in the snow (which I will be seeing more of because of the area I'm moving to), and my payments should be fairly reasonable.
I was hoping to get at least 150K miles out of my CL, but I don't know if I should risk keeping it .

IMO, I'd sell it, who wants to pay the cost of a very possibile traanny replacement esp when it may go out again after that. Don't understand why there is not a permanent fix for the trannies. good luck.

I've got an '00 Accord. I put in a tranny cooler/filter on mine (by B&M). I think you can prob put one on your car too.
I am lucky in that I got that put in about 10k ago, and my tranny is fine. There were some sh!tty shifting going on last year, but I haven't had anything of late. I do drive 20k+ miles per year and I bought Honda for the quality. I hope that this will last.

I have 78K on my car, but still on the first tranny :knockonwood:
I will be selling my car around 85K. Even though I have not had one single tranny problem, I still feel like I can't trust it. If it wasn't for that, I would keep it for another 5 years.
So, I would have to say: Sell it.
