ultimate bragging rights...pics

well, its been 3 months in the making, but it finally happened. I designed these wheels for a new company to go public in december. The company is called Donz and the wheel is called Capone. it comes in 18" and 20" for cars only and fits our car with a 45mm offset. you can see the progress of the rim design and models from the manufacturer in Korea. i also designed their ads in lowrider. It was awesome watching these things come to life. I got a few more designs being made up right now into prototypes. These are pics of the prototypes and will be available soon. the ones on the CL-S were photoshoped on for fun but there is only one of them in the shop. let me know what you think. Boy am I ever anxious to put a set on my car.

nice, did you do the 3d models in autocad?
Those look really sweet, how much will they go for each? for the 18's? 20s? Will they rub at all with a 45 offset?? I am really interested!!

btw is that pink picture a prototype of the rim?
Great looking add also! You rock!!

thanks for the feedback, I got one flat check and a complimentary set with tires mounted and balanced incuded. I can't wait till the spinning rims hit the market. those alone would be worth the pay. By the way, I didn't design 3 d models in auto cad, I drew some 3/4 views and photoshopped some revisions (Second 3d model) onto a crude 3d model the sent me.

very nice rondog, i'm impressed.

you should talk them into a lightweight design, something w/ painted center and polished lip.

They look a bit crowded to me... I prefer GT3 like wheels... BTW, Why did not clone the SEMA CL-S wheels?

NICE!

Just make 3 more rem-board prototypes and mount those. Bet they'd be lighter than production.

thanks again, you guys got me gassed. They will have to go through alot of mumbo jumbo and ligistics before they hit the real market. As soon as the ad is in lowrider(around december/january) you can order them through the phone line. I guess anybody on the east coast will be able to see them in shops and stuff since the founders are also major distributors of other rims. Connects, nothing beats connects. By the way, they are real light compared to other 18" chrome wheels, I felt them for my self when I was in the shop.

I had the same thought. The first 3D model (the non-chrome looking one) is the nicest of them all. Very cool looking rims; why no 19's?

Well that's cool...but not very original looking, the chrome looks shady as well compared to Lowenharts and stuff but being made in Korea, the price would probably reflect that lack of quality..

well, on that note, I had 3 pages of designs and they picked that one thinking its a safe design to start a company from. If the design is too radically different, its a gamble in the market. They are produced in Korea along with everything else in USA that is afforrdable. If I was investing that much money in a business, I would be just as conservative in the beginning. Their quality is really solid. The manufacturer was chosen from a sea of others manufacturers by the quality of existing wheels they produced for another company called sporza.
sooooooo they aren't exactly as famous as Lowenharts but the chrome is really reliable. by the way, The guy who started the Donz company is a major distributor of wheels on the east coast, He told me that lowenhart rims don't have great chrome, he had to exchange more than enough of them in his 10 yrs of selling wheels and tires.
