Type S Redesign for 2003?

Is it true the TL Type S is going to be redesigned for the 2003? My bro is sweating that rumor because he was going to get the TL Type S in a few months, but now that he heard this he doesnt want to have an old body style in a year! In truth to this? Also any rumors about the Cl being redesigned?

That would not make much economical sense so this idea is highly doubtful. I would give this new TL about a 3 year life time before the next re-design. I think he should just go ahead and buy the new TLS without a doubt.

Tint 15%, Polarqs M6s, Things to come: sub, air kit (if exists), maybe headers,K&N filter, CAI, and spring/sway combo.

Considering that the TL came out in 99, i would think that the TL would be up for a remodeling in 2003. I dont think a 4-5 year life cycle for a car is unrealistic. Toyota changes their models every 5 years and during the 5 years, they do subtle cosmetic changes.

My brother has put the deposit down for the TL-S. The dealer said that it would be arriving in 2 weeks!

YES, it is CONFIRMED and has been for quite awhile that the TL will get a COMPLETE redesign in 2003.

The new 2002 TL isnt anything but a facelift. they didnt change shit but the front end... cost them nill compared to what theyll make off having a car that appears new for the year.

The CL wont get redesigned until '04 or '05

Maybe a facelift for '03

Confirmed? What source besides the TL forum? When I see a press release from Honda/Acura, or even a mention in a car / trade rag, then I will believe it. I know of NO other car that had even a modest change one year, only to have a brand new redesign the next year. Please mention any if you know of them...

This has been a stated fact in almost every "whats coming" article from EVERY magazine for the past 2 years.

They said that not only would it receive minor a facelift for '02 (which obviously it has) but it would get a complete overhaul for '03... if they were right on the first statement... then I believe em on the next one.

Dont be sorry...

BTW, my data is incorrect.

The TL will receive its complete redesign in 2004. The same year the Lexus GS will get its redesign.

Maybe that is why both Lexus & Acura have reskinned their sports sedans... keep sells steady until 04.

Here is a online chart to go by: http://www.autonews.com/html/main/futureproduct.htm

If you have AutoMag subscriptions... just look through the past few months to find the "whats in store for the future" type cover storys.

Most all the data matches up with the data from the chart above. Well, Acuras data matches up at least.

This peaks my interests:

"INFINITI REAR DRIVE LUXURY SEDAN
Infiniti is considering a new rwd sedan in the $40,000 range. A Japan-market Nissan Gloria sporting Infiniti badges has been seen on Los Angeles-area roads. This would be Infiniti’s answer to the Lexus GS sedans, with both six- and eight-cylinder versions offered. It could be here as soon as the 2002 model year."

But most of all... Im absolutely dying to see the next CLK.

Well it may be a bad example, but I heard the Pontiac AZTEK will be getting a FULL makeover for it’s SECOND year.

I guess they can’t possibly do any worse then their first attempt.
