Well I did it. Went over and lunch and put some in. It makes a difference. Not a huge difference but it does work.
It is warm here today.. about 70. The car responds like it is 30. That is the best way to describe the difference.
100 Octane
$4.00 a gal.

Thought about it. I have heard good and bad things about it. I want to look into it a little more. Need to see what else is in that little can besides Octane.

The stuff I put in was 100 octane at the Malibu station. Your description of power difference "jives" with my 100 octane experience. It is expensive stuff @ $4.25.

In my area, the gas is not advertised as, "racing gas." (or av gas)

tuleman: Could you really feel a difference? I'd like to do some g-tech pro runs to REALLY see if it's a difference or just psychological. I assume you went to the 76 on almaden?

Yes there is a difference. I noticed a bigger diference this morning when it was cold. Cold temps + racing fuel is FUN.

With our car's high compression ratio I am not surprised that our cars love the higher octane gas.. but @ $4/gal.. hey I would try it too if I could find a station here.

Go to www.76.com and locate one that way. I know there is one in San Jose.

This sucks. Even just 93 or 94 octane would be AWESOME. I'd totally pay $2.50 a gallon for that stuff. $4.00 is a little much though. That's twice as much. Anyone know if we can find 93 or 94 octane anywhere? (Preferably 76 brand
