.........ok, Not too sure about on an automatic cause the base of the boot has to be tucked under a frame.

I just ordered one of these boots for my 6 speed however, hope I can make it fit.
Anybody put one on a CLS 6MT??

isnt it easy for a manual trannys cuz all you have to do is remove the stock shift boot? i had this on my 01 gs-r and the red stitching/leather combo was clean! please post pics if you got this done on the auto cl, im sure there are shift boot savvy peeps out there.

I know Mercedes uses the shiftboot on their automatics.

Do what I did; I put an athletic wristband around it. Boom; shift boot.

I'm just curious but what's the purpose of this shift boot on an auto? Does it add hp or style?

It adds Flava!

Also hides the fact that some guys can't work 3 pedals.

I can see that, I'm thinking about adding it now. It might add 50whp on my turbo setup but then again, I'm getting the 6 speed swap away so maybe I'll look into. Thanks for the idea.

Hmmm....what can I say that's ON topic and not insulting?

j/k

I've seen a COUPLE that were pulled off and looked nice. It's all about planning, execution and a keeping it perspective of what type of car it is. (ie. NOT a high profile, wild kitted show car civic). If you keep those guidelines in mind, IN MY OPINION, it could look just as natural as a manual.

by the way...to anyone reading (hint), My "3 pedal" comment was more aimed at blk2001tlon19s than anybody....temporarily that is.

Yeah, insult the people that try to help

You're making friends around here real fast. Keep on running your fuckin' shit trap and see how much help you'll get.

My point was for you not to run to the local Pep Boys and throw some crap on the shifter and call it cool. If you were insulted by me trying to help you have insight on your upcoming "waste of money", then that's your problem. Learn what constructive criticism is and what a joke is.

Don't bring the immaturity in here, expect to be handheld/walked through each question and expect to stay long.
You know what, fuck it! Turn your keys over to somebody deserving and go buy a Ford Festiva.

Here’s a recap of the whole situation. All I wanted to know was “anybody have the auto but has a shift boot? I like that manual look style, and the red stitching to match the shift knob.”
Suddenly Blitz comments from out of nowhere, "hides the fact that some guys can't work 3 pedals". Its interesting because I didn’t say anything about pepboys, wild civic kits, adding hp, or hiding anything. You and I know they didn’t build 6 speeds for the 01-02 cl’s just by looking at the tail lamps, further supporting my point that I’m not doing this mod to HIDE anything, add hp, or get some cheap parts from pepboys; its purely aesthetic.

"My point was for you not to run to the local Pep Boys and throw some crap on the shifter and call it cool." No that wasnt your point blitz. This is what you originally posted, "hides the fact that some guys can't work 3 pedals" (negative connotation), hence your point.

We can clearly see that Blitz has his facts in a predicament, and it is safe to say that he is a college dropout as well, suffering from mild symptoms of the "i need to get laid" syndrome. Its ok Blitz your not alone, but dont release your anger on teenagers online, get a life, and get your facts straight.

I don’t need useless criticism.
