Comptech headers, there are plently of exhaust systems out there or you could go custom. I like the greddy, but there are others that are nice. THe post whores will be here soon, don't worry.

there's plenty of threads on this subject; but just real quick on headers:

Comptech headers are the best, they run anywhere from $500+ used and $1000+ brand new; many will vouch though that they are worth every penny. No one has reported fitment issues or quality issues with these. They give a different tone to your exhaust note (doesn't add to volume) and really give you a good punch in the face in the high revs. Dyno'd they're good for almost 25-30 hp to the wheel is what I understand.

People have also gotten their headers jet hot coated; which is an outside coating that lowers the header temperature and keeps them shiny forever.

Comparable headers would most likely be DC Sports; they are ceramic and not stainless steel; some people have had a couple of fitment issues (I think 6speeds only though), and some people with TL's get hissing after 2500-3000 rpms.

Megans, Alphawerks, OBX, etc. are generally crap; Alphawerks was thought to be a good company but I guess ended up not being up to par.

Exhaust possibilites:

1. Apex'i World Sport Series full cat back; don't believe there are any CL's but I know a couple of TL's that have the WS1 and the WS2 (with rolled tip). Love the WS2's, very conservatively tuned for a low key sound; the tips are @ 4 inches I believe and are alittle large (canister is pretty big too).

2. Comptech Exhaust, available in both axleback (mufflers only) as well as catback (includes b-pipe); both parts can be purchased together as well as separately. 3.5" tip I believe so are a bit more conservative looking than the Apex'is. Same thing w/ headers though, a bit pricey, but you pay for quality.

3. Greddy full catback: 115mm canisters for a big aggressive look and an aggressive exhaust note. I know someone @ .net is trying to sell 'em right now.

4. HKS superdrager: look exactly like the Apex'i WS1 but with a shorter (but same diameter) tip. Available with catback as well as axleback.

5. Magnaflow axleback: Pretty cheap price and just a little bit larger than the comptech's conservative tips. Look great and are easily installed @ muffler shops. Sound great too

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but even if you upgrade headers & exhaust, you still won't get much more gains than simply doing headers only. The exhaust on the Type S is already a high flow system. A full exhaust for the CL is expensive and not worth it IMHO unless you're boosted from what I understand. If you just want to change the tone and/or looks, just go with mufflers. That is again, unless you're boosted.

for headers i would go used and just send them to jet-hot.

exhaust, you should be able to gain at least 5 whp from a catback. it's relative to what your spending though. depends on what your looking for.

True. Headers will give you a hell of a lot more gain than exhaust will.

I like the Comptech headers and exhaust setup.

So far all I have done is have the Magnaflow 14832's axle-backs put on. They def add a nice growl and was exactly what I was looking for, not too loud, looks good, not ricey(!), relatively economical.
One thing I noticed with them, after driving about 30 miles, they significantly up their volume, but still not to where its annoying. Granted when (if) you first start the car up after getting them installed, you have this feeling that you just wasted your money because they are so quiet. Drive on them for a bit and you will feel better about them.

Comptech all the way, headers especially, you dont have to worry about problems in the future.

I say do the full cat-back if your planing to do any FI (forced induction).

I kind of like the Tanabe cans. No one actually runs the set up I believe but a lot of V6 accord guys @ seem to have it (or @least a good handful of 'em); in any case, from what I've read, they're a pretty loud set up (both catback and axleback).

They look basicalyl like the HKS draggers, but with a smaller canister.
