Brian6speed let's get a little bet going on for fun haha. Since most people on this forum never follow through with what they say when it comes to drag racing their car and running a certain et... What will I get if I run high 12's all motor once I have axles and slicks? Let's just say I'm able to crack into the 11's on nitrous with just a 3.2 that has full bolt on's plus that power adder, full weight 100% street car. Is it safe to say I'm the first cl in the united states to do so? Excluding that single turbo rwd cl which is clearly a all out drag car.

I browsed through this thread in the past and I also had a feeling he was never going to finish it. By the way he spoke on here, the cheap kit/parts he used, and no one to actually tune it for him it wasn't looking to good for him lmao.

There was someone that did it in 12.9 on spray and also Fries is close to that with his almost 400whp on spray lol or even faster but he has issues with tranny i think.

I've seen someone on here they claimed 12.7 on nitrous with 245s on. Certainly possible a lot of it does come down to driving especially with a manual car. . .

12.9 on spray isn't that fast I want to do that all motor lol. I didn't know fries was making that much on spray or even spraying his car period haha. Hope he gets his trans problem solved.

I would think they would be a little faster than that but who knows what other supporting mods they had. That's 100% correct!

a ginger thing and fighting with one of our moderators but it was tough guy :P im still in touch with him outside the forum not really sure whats his current setup but i could ask... iirc bolt ons stage 3 CM clutch (3rd one ?) and the hell of the n2o civicdrivr might have more info about his car though

Lol oh okay thanks for clarifying that ha. Oh man that's not what I want to hear. I decided I'm going to to run that CM stage 3 kit with the aasco flywheel also. I hope I don't have problems especially on his 3rd clutch setup, that's crazy. I thought these transmissions were kinda on the strong side but I guess not so hopefully everything holds up.

He never break it in properly(clutch) i think that was his problem. I dont think our tranny is as strong as everyone was thinking few members i know that put some more power to the ground, they had or have problems right now.

That's a expensive clutch setup to not properly break in and to have to replace twice lol. Damn well I hope I don't run into any transmission problems. I might stick with oem clutch setup for now just to see how it acts with slicks and nitrous. I rather s slight slippage for now to save me from breaking shit. The good thing about bias ply slicks is they are very forgiving and less violent than drag radial style tires. It's also easier to launch especially with a stick car.

You must be lost then, I won't have the typical cl once I hit the track. Let's hear your opinion on what my car will run then? You make it sound like 12's is out of the question. I'm not saying I will do it, but even if I don't it will be very close within a few tenths my guess. I do agree with you 11's does sound crazy since no one's done it before. I'll be more than happy to take your money because I'm almost certain the car can run at least a 12.5 on spray .

And I'm gonna throw a couple turbos on after supercharging and run 7s all day. My point is that the CL-S has been around since '01 and we have yet to see actual timeslips confirming anyone even in the 12s. These forums are so full of talk about all the things people are going to do to their car and all of their plans for it and it never happens. I've never seen another car forum do so much talking about all their plans for their cars without doing anything. It's seriously like high school kids that think they're gonna pimp their Civics out and run 10s all day but then just throw on some tail lights and a carbon fiber hood and call it a day.

I completely understand what your saying on those type of people. Well I'll tell you this I'm not that type of person, I do what I say. I'm not a little kid that owned civics in the past. I've actually had quick toys. Go search for my build thread for proof. I owned my car for one year this month. Look how much stuff I've done to it in that one year... I also do shit the right way and actually pay for quality parts, not go the cheap route. By the way you still haven't said a opinion on what my car will run yet. I love being the person to do things that most people don't do, I like being different.

Perfect even more of a reason for me to do it! You better get on DSS ass about those axles. So what is that now $75 total in bets lol? You guys don't have faith in this car at all haha. I've had fast cars ran in the 9s and wrong-wheel drive pigs like the CL-S. My SHO was pushing more than 450HP at the front wheels after the SHOShop supercharger and all the other mods and it still never hit 12s.

I don't think you'll even hit 12s.

I completely agree with you, it's harder to 60ft with a fwd but it definitely isn't possible. 450whp and you can't crack into the 12's that's a problem, regardless it's fwd. You do know I will have a set of slicks on my car correct? Also civicdrivr is setting up something with DSS for custom axles. Now that's funny if I can't run 12's on spray that's a joke!!! I will have my paypal account ready when the time comes so be ready . I'll let the car do the talking...

I'd have to agree with this Weez. If you're pushing 450whp and didn't crack into the 12's that's more driver error than car. Throw some slicks on there and I'm sure you're in the 12's, assuming you had a Quaife installed as well, which I'm guessing you did if you put 450whp type dollars into the car. I had a SHO too and they were quick and fun cars but I never built it up to the level that you had yours at.

Fox, I too think 12.5 is a bit ambitious but I'm looking forward to seeing what you run. I think 12.9 at best. I ran a 13.8 with 290whp and that was with me not trying to break my car doing so. But with beefed up axles, clutch and slicks, 12's is definitely not out of the question even for a wrong wheel drive car. Agreed there's a lot of talk on these forums but at least there are a few still trying to push the envelope on a car that was released in '01 versus settling for some headers and CAI as our top mods and 14.1's as our fastest times.
