The ad has a bunch of 'elaborations' in it. 'Stage 2 turbo'... huh? These are the same parts allmotor and I had. 'Complete Comptech Turbo System'... yyyyyeah, just the top part of the headers dude, and I SERIOUSLY doubt it will hit 12psi. But hey, gotta try to get some money out of it... there is a LOT of money in that car...

I remember seeing this awhile ago. Still, no way I'd pay that much for it, considering it's an auto. I agree, the interior is fugly. If it was a 6 speed and the price were down and it didn't have all the damn screens and excessive sound system, I'd consider it.

That's a bad ass engine...I'll take the engine components and all the gauges, but leave the car. There is too much going on in the cabin.
fixed!

Lol, I know that dealership. Anyways, yea, that car is wayyy too much, if I have time I think ill go check it out. Other than the turbo setup there is nothing attractive to me. Too much going on inside the cabin and trunk, despite the fact it is a "show car".

Ill go test drive it sometime next week and let you guys know how it is And Im gonna bombard the salesperson with questions regarding the car and see if he knows anything about it, and how they can justify a 29,000 dollar price tag for a 01 Cl

I highly doubt they are going to let you test drive it. I just don't see it happening.
I sent the dealership a message via eBay telling him the listing was full of misinformation (i.e., Comptech turbo kit) and the price was absurd. Haven't received a response yet.

Just talked to Louie D. (sales) at the dealership and he said nobody gets to test drive. I asked him about the transmission, he wasnt sure what someone was thinking putting that kind of setup on an auto. Oh well, I tried. I guess I should have expected that since I bought my CLS there and he was with me on the test drive. Kinda scared him I think.

So you, being a 24 year old like myself, appeared as if you could afford a Lamborghini?

Sure. Even before I was well off I'd go checkout nice cars from time to time. If your not in a job where you can afford it, you can still make them think you can. Just make sure you have a good story and seem very interested in buying.
On another note, someone said they called the dealership and was told no one can test drive it. That's total BS. Who buys a car (much less a car like THAT) without test driving that? I was once told by a sale guy at a Porsche dealership that the 911 is "the kind of car you just know you want. You don't test drive it first". Right after that I talked to the manager of the dealership and was driving that 911 with X50 upgrade minutes later. There are almost no cars you buy without test driving and those that fit that criteria all run $200K+.

what you said was mostly true but i really think it depends on the salesman. from what i know wat mood he is in, if he has sold enough that he does not mind wasting time showing you the car and stuff. i have a friend who works at a dealership and this is what he has told me, he said especially when the manager is not there most salesmen dont care they will let people test drive, he does not work for lambo but he works at a privately owned lot that deals with mostly foreign cars, there are lots of porsches, m5, m3's vettes some masarati and then ofcourse the hondas and toyotas and stuff.. im not sure bout the exotics dealerships but as far as test driving i guess you could pull it off at a lambo dealership the principles shouldnt be too different from ohter dealerships but agian i think it depends on the salesman like i said..

Oh yeah the salesman really matters. Then again if you don't find one willing to let you drive it, you can talk to someone else, explain your position (being that your very interested in them and would like to see if it's something you want to buy) and chances are you'll be able to get that test drive (besides, who other then a serious buyer is going to continue to ask to test drive a vehicle after being told they can't). If you have a business card with a nice title (like Director, VP, etc...) you might wanna ask to exchange business cards while talking to them about it. Anything to show you have can afford the car. Lots of other stuff you can do too.

thats because you guys live in no man's land where they are dying to sell high end exotics.
around here, at any exotics car dealership, both private and public, you MUST provide a deposit, usually around $5,000 and up depending on the car. you also must provide prior experience, knowledge, AND ownership of high end cars.
you don't just get to hop in a murcielago and drive it.
edit: of course if you show up with $250,000 cash in a briefcase, they won't hesitate to sign the papers. people have done it.

I drove a Porsche at a dealership in LA and a Lotus Elise in Miami. That's not no mans land. If they would have asked, I'd have no problem throwing down my credit card for a $5k deposit but I've never been asked.

Around here we have plenty of exotics. People drive Porsche GT3s in the winter....
This car on eBay looks like something Midwest Roasters would sell. Modded vehicles with a questionable history.

i duno, around here porsche means nothing unless its a Carrera GT.
i'm talking lamborghini (gallardo, murcielago) ferrari 430, 599, 612, aston martin db9, vanquish, bentley GT, arnage.
when you walk into a showroom with the above on the floor, a GT3 looks like a honda/acura in a mercedes/bmw showroom.

So the $130k Porsche 911 X50 I drove is like a Honda? The point of all of this is, you can test drive anything (including all the cars you listed) if you seem like an interested buyer. And for any dealership to not allow people to test drive a $29k car that's worth about $14k or less Blue Book is just plain stupid. I'd bet I could go out to Morrie's Minnetonka Mazda and drive a Ferarri at any time. I drove a Maserati Quattroporte there a while back.
