The 289hp is the horsepower rated at the crank not the wheels. When you throw it on the chassis dyno it will read anywhere from 12-30% off the crank hp rating. Didn't the guy say he had 420hp to the wheels?

I guess your first born will be named Ramanan because he has smoked several M3s already with the first turbo.

the guy you beat's name at my350z.com is chebosto. he's a pretty cool guy, and like you he seems to know his stuff. He's sponsored by TechnoSquare Inc., Power Enterprise, StopTech Brakes, FiberImages, and RS*R.

Here's some interesting links he's got in his sig over there. First two are about his PE TT, and the last is about his cf body kit he's working on:

yup, that's cheston...aka chebosto as some said.
he used to have a 5spd 4th gen max SC and was a frequent member of maxima.org until he moved up.

i believe i read somewhere on my350z.com that he only ran mid or high 13s with his setup. and if he said he's pushing 420whp, HE IS pushing 420whp

I totally believe he is pushing 420 whp... but if he only ran mid 13s he either needs new rubber or needs to practice his speed shifting. He should be deep into the 12s on street tires.

WOW I haven't read the thread yet but 105 mph is FAR from 420 whp. He should be over 120 mph. I'm assuming high altitude track and hot temps.

Yeah.... 420whp is in the 115-120 mph range. I hit 112 with 360'ish (heavier car as well).

Possibly his run was was 5psi?

That's what i'm thinking, even though he's not running the GReddy kit, it looks similar except for the turbos. The GReddy kit is 5.6 psi, and puts out 334 whp and runs 12.79 at 106. An extra 3 lbs of boost i'm sure would push an extra 85 whp from it don't you all think? And I'm sure an extra 85 whp would help his trap speed a very, very healthy amount.

I doubt he's putting down anywhere near 420...

My BONE STOCK 350Z times and traps are in my sig.....13.6@105mph is pitfully slow for a turbo Z....most of the slower ones trap 110-112mph...and the quicker ones are trapping 118+. Hell there are N/A guys with a few bolt-ons that have trapped higher than Cheston's TT Z.

There's been A LOT of misinformation in this thread. The Greddy Turbo kit has been mentioned a few times and someone stated that the turbos are only good for 400hp....that's 400hp EACH. There is 350Z lurking around Houston with a Greddy TT kit, rods, and low comp pistions with 17psi on the 18G turbos that come with the kit putting down 560rwhp. Most of the guys who just bolt the kit on with the 5.5lbs of boost are putting down ~350rwhp and trapping around 110mph.

That is one helluva fast stock 350z you got there. No slicks or at least upgraded rubber?

your "bone stock" Z is a freak if it was bone stock. other Z's just don't run that fast. a fairly good driver is going to go ~ 14.0 @ 101

there was a guy from idaho at woodburn dragstrip the last time i was there, his Z had a popcharger intake, crawford plenum and catback exhaust. it was on slicks with passenger seat removed and the trunk stripped and he was running 13.0 @ 103. the dude knew how to drive too. it was hot as hell that day though.

using your time as a benchmark for the Z is rediculous. and great, there's a 560hp Z running around houston. we've just never heard about it. most turbo Z's that i've heard of are running 3-400whp.

Well, it is quite probable that when he ran is mentioned E.T., he wasn't putting 420whp. Nobody knows (except him) what kind of power he had/has... so there is no point speculating. I know (given how my car runs) that he had at least 360-370whp when I ran him... if he had more, hey that makes me feel better. At this point, I suppose I don't really care... just need to dyno my car and not waste my time lulling over what some other car puts down.

yes thats cheston and he in fact ran the best of 13.6@105 with the TT kit at like 2000ft. Now as far as the rest running 8-8.5psi which there are 3 are making 410-430whp and running mid 12's at 115-117 on street tires. Nice kill and Cheston is the nicest and most helpful guy out there for pioneering new products for cars. Now if you run into another 350z running 8psi dont expect to pull away but thats a given for most with knowledge.

I can supply links to MANY other 350Z's that have trapped over 101mph stock.

My car isn't a freak at all...it dyno's right with other Z's....and of the two Z's I've run on the street I lost to one with just cat-back exhaust and was tied with another stocker.

My point is that 13.6@105mph is piss poor for a turbo Z ANY WAY YOU SLICE IT.

Well... why harp on the poor guy's 13.5 @ 105?!? Maybe he was prototyping the kit at the time and that's what it ran.... its called 'test & tune'!! This is why nobody likes to go the track on this board.
