trunk makes weird noise when i open it...

trunk makes weird noise when i open it...

any one else have this problem

I have this problem too. It squeaks as you open and shut the trunk. The bracket that holds the torsion (sp?) bars in the center came loose. I still have yet to get it fixed. It's the peice directly over the center of the speaker box. Hope this helps.....

Apply a bit of plain old axle grease or bearing grease to the hinge points where the torsion springs attack to the trunk hinges .Add some to that plastic piece that supports the center of the torsion bars as well .That will cure it .

Everyone should invest some money and go out and buy some Prolong SPL100 penetrating lubricant. That stuff has fixed just about every squeek I've had on this car, from the noisy ac belt tensioner to my squeeky door. It comes in an aerosol can, part #40020.
