Trouble with a Diamante?!?!?!?!

Bastard!

Trying to get to work, and I already was running a little late, so I pull up to an intersection rather rapidly, when a 1999-2000 Me-so-shitty Diamante comes roaring up next to me. He starts to rev his engine after he catches my eye, so I laugh and turn up the Redman on the system. When the light turns green, I customarily gas the CL and proceed rather quickly thru the next few lights, and this fucker starts to punch it and run up on me like he wants some. Fuck it! I change the CD to some House, right before the light turns green to get into the racing spirit - and just in time, a cop pulls some truck over without any taillights, so the coast is clear. Also as luck would have it, this is the stretch of road where it is about 2 miles of 3 lane traffic. Slowly we cruise up to the last light for the next 3/4 mile, he guns his engine, I try the power braking technique. Light turns green, VRROOOOMMM!!!!!! I get a good jump on him, I see him next to me for a split second and that was it. I am happily going faster and chill out after I see triple digits on the speedo, then I remember before I start to brake at the second light further down the road, that this fool actually wanted some. He pulls up next to me, gives me a WTF look??? So I laugh again, pumped up the music and made it to work a little earlier than expected.

The key was, I got the jump onhim, and I was late for work.

The moral of the story is, hell, who has time for morals?

That oh so shittyy Diamante has just as good if not better build quality than YOUR car.

It has a 3.5 liter V-6 rated at 210 hp which is (was)IDENTICAL to your 45k Flagship RL........

It's a good car and though not sporty at all, looks very nice.......

Good race though, power braking helps a bundle.

Not really 1sicklex

I have a friend who actually has a diamante 98. It's very nice on the interior and they have lots of room. Depreciation value is terrible and they are slow as $hit. SLOW AS $HIT! My friend actually wants to race me LOL! I have seen him take off and he can't even keep up with a 99 TL. Now pricing? You figure almost 42 our flagship and 30 for diamante. Not the same class. They don't even compare the diamante to a RL.

D4,

North Capitol Street, just past Missouri avenue and over by the VA hospital. We ran from Missouri to Rhode Island Avenue down North Capitol Street. Fools always try people down that stretch, and the po-po are starting to frequent the bridge by the Airmans home more often, so I try no tto hit that stretch, but I do what I have to for the honor of my car.

The paint quality is a lot worst. I had a 2001 Diamante LS.

as the ex-owner of a 92 diamante, my dad has a 99, diamantes are not great products, the are filled with sqeaks, buzzes, whirls, and everyother small annoying noise you could think of. the fit and finish of the interior was outstanding but the durability of some things sucked, like the floor mats that just slid around because the pin holding it in would snapp off. and the steering wheel that would whirl as you turned it. and many other things. for the same price you could get a much better TL.

I find most Japanese cars to have great build quality, sure some are better than others. The Diamantes I have been in and the 2 times I drove them, the quality was there to me.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Diamantes, they aren't bad cars, but not a street racer by far. Build quality and reliability is average for a car, but below average for a japanese model. The comment was directed towards the other models in their lineup. The Montero Sport, Galant, Eclipse, and Monteros are all severly underpowered and out classed compared to their counterparts. The Lancer is a serious joke - I mean really, a 115 hp car to rival the other pocket rockets? Would you really buy a Mitisubishi over anything from the Honda/Acura line? If you would, then you probably wouldn't be here, and we'd just make serious fun of you.

C'mon guys, I'm sure not al Diamantes have squeaks, problems, etc. just like the CLS/TLS tranny, sunroof, seat rattling, etc, etc. No car is flawless.

But I still don't like the Diamantes...

That's my favorite spot too. I had a couple more races going through there this weekend on the way to the club.
