dude, if you are so worried about the maint cost of the car or replacement cost of a transmission, why not get a totally different car? obviously you cannot afford the car you have if you are thinking of ways to scam a dealer.......

However he says he's got another 36K and then he'll dump the car. To be honest a bunch of us dumped our car when it was coming close to the end of the warranty life.

And you'll be suprised how many people buy cars that they can't afford.

I won't lie, I pulled an ole switcheroo Scam before in college.

Those bastards at a large electronic store sell me a DVD player and I didnt get the extended warranty.

NO LIE 32 days after (30 day return policy) I buy it the thing completely dies, I go in and complain and rant and the customer service girl actually told me. TOUGH LUCK... I was gonna let the camera accidentally fly out of my hand and hit her in the head and say, "tough luck"

ANywhoo, four days later I go into another of their stores and buy the exact same product and return my broken one as if it was the one i just bought..

I felt guilty as hell and wouldnt do something like that nowadays, but I felt I had to stick it to the man for getting screwed over like that.

I feel wrong using that excuse, but I hold myself higher than some of our younger members.

Im the kind of person that would find out what dealership he took it to, and then e-mail/fax this thread to them. Ive never had any bad luck with honesty.

Snitching...c'mon dude...

I just like to be honest. Change your milege to get a free transmission? Yea, its great on his part, he doesnt have to pay for it. You have to think of the technicians that were paid to install it, manufacture it, etc. Its complete BS.

I do think it says a lot about who I am, I think by you saying im "snitching" says a lot about what kind of person you are.

That is a true statement. Liars and cheats will eventually get their true rewards. It speaks volumes about what kind of people they are. Because there are some unethical businesses around is no reason to sink to their level. You just wind up being the same sort of scum.

I'd love to see some of these people's reactions if it was THEIR business and someone tried to cheat them. A different tune I think.

^^^lol...yea it needs to be...

02cls....i said snitching because you said you would find out what place he went to and would send them this thread....

i consider that tattle telling...but the comment about it says alot about you was general...so i apologize if i offended you...but i wouldnt want someone to tell/snitch on me..

If you have nothing to do with something and still tell about it for no benefit to yourself but just to call out someone.... thats what i call snitching..

but like htown said

lock it up....i was just bsing with people....but was interested to see so many people be on the dealers side....i hate dealerships....more dishonest ones the honest ones....well around me that is...

I am a pretty ethical mofo, but the fact is simple.

Acura replaces our tranny up till 100K miles or 7years, after that, they are still sticking you with the same defect product that was previously replaced.

Everyone should buy stock in Honda in 2008.
You know how much money they are going to save by not having to worry about this recall anymore from the 2000-2003 Acura/Hondas.
