Transmission Woes

I just took my '01 CL-S to Mission Viejo Acura. After two days of slipping in third gear and today it started freaking out and wouldn't even leave third they said I need a new transmission. After only 10000 miles I've killed the tranny. Didn't even abuse the car. Oh well, any advice on how to take care of this new tranny?

Don't brake torque it (not that you did), keep hard launches to a minimum.
Anybody else?

Well never did torque braking with my car, and I used to drive all my cars harder than the CL. I've been babying my CL off the line since gas is so expensive. Guess it was just bad luck on my part.

don't be depressed, it's like any thing else that is mass produced, there will be a small percentage that have problems. the way you drove it had nothing to do with your problems, it was predetermined.
just make sure that you get a decent loaner like a tl. don't take any bs from your dealer. how are they, cooperative or not?

Don't actually have the car handy right now to get the DOM, I will check the VIN later tonight. The dealership I went to, Acura of Mission Viejo, was very helpful. They did someone else's CL on this board last week for the same problem. I will get back to everyone with the DOM.

If I remember correctly, weren't a lot of them manufactured around October/November of 2000?

I know of 2 with a DOM of November 2000, mine and SidVicious'. One other person responded, but had a DOM of about July 2000, so there's not much to go on really, it's most likely a random issue.
