Transmission Temperature

Did a search but might have missed it as I couldn't believe I didn't find the information. Questions are - what is the transmission temperature in stock set up, for those of you with the transmission cooler what temperature are you all seeing, and finially for those of you who are running superchargers or turbos what is your temperature? Thanks Clinton

if you read the very long thread on "what wrong with our transmission" the answer is in there.

The temps go well above 300F in certain circumstances

300F?!? Damn that's some crazy temps. For stock, the normal operating temps I see are around 175F in the summer heat. As temperatures increase above 200F, your transmission fluid's life decreases exponentially.

You would pretty much have to install it right on the 3rd gear clutch packs........

That is the temp that the 3rd gear clutch packs are seeing, not the whole tranny and all its fluid

Go with a tranny cooler and synthetic fluid, that's all you can do, and don't abuse 3rd gear!

I guess the reason I am asking is that my Automeeter temp guage that has a range on 100-250 reads 100 and I'm not sure if I didn't hook it up right, the guage is brook, or what.

YeuEmMaiMai- I can see where there is a post that say stock 175 and another that temps run up to 300 and another about breakdown at 200. I just find it hard to belive that a tran. cooler can lower the temp 75 degrees which is what my guage is reading.
