Transmission for Supercharger!

Well I know a lot of people are concerned with the fact that our trannys are kind of weak and cant handle the power that a SC will make. I know Level 10 is making some kind of upgrade. However, theres a shop called Sound Performance in Chicago. There infamous for their work on Supras. Im sure some of the Chicago guys know about them. They have about 6 9 second supras roaming the streets. Well anyway, bottum line is they make trannies for the supra which are the absolute hands down best. They blow the level 10 out of the water. I spoke with one of the owners today about our car. He said that they would be very interested in doing some kind of upgrade if we could get a Chicago member to bring the car in so they could see what its like. Im almost positive that their tranny's are less then L10 and the quality is much better, go to www.supraforums.com and post there asking about it if u dont believe me. I think this would be a great alternative to the L10 and could even possibly save everyone some money if we could get someone to bring their car in so they could see what its like. Please respond if your definetly interested in something like this or if u want more info.

I dont mind letting them look at my car, as long as they dont start prying things off.

These guys really do have a great name around here. They are probably the first, or second best shop in the nation for Supras. It would probably be better to wait and see what happpens with the SC first. It probably wont be available until at least another year.

Yea, thats a good plan to wait. Yea larry really knows his stuff... Id say them and Powerhouse are tied with the Supra community but Larry has great prices. And I think his price with def be lower the Level 10 and itll be a better tranny by far. So im definetly in... might even have him build my engine while im there.

What they would do is rebuild our tranny, not get a supra tranny installed.

I told you guys before about Sound Performance. They are located in Bloomingdale, IL. They work on all types of cars. I had a few things done by them on my last BMW. If you want the # its 630-893-5002, ask for Gary, hes one of the owners.

They got some really cool shit @ their location. Very nice setup.

No they would rebuild our trannys, I was just saying they make great transmissions. For example the supra tranny.

my brother just bought a black '97 MINT supra TT with only 20k miles! First thing he's doing is getting a turbo timer installed from SP....he's going crazy with some other mods from them. Two of my other friends (who are in my band) also have Supra's! One has a '94tt and the other has a '98tt..they love sound performance!

Well you can think what you want about L10 but I know a lot of people who are very unsatisfied with their trannies, both Sound Performance and Powerhouse Racing have changed over to their own. A lot of Level 10 trannies are failing and people are trading them in for the SP. But do as you please, im just trying to help the board out adn give everyone an alternative.

No it wasnt a stupid coment, I just think that you should reconside if SP offers a rebuild kit which Im sure theyll do. Primarily because itll be a better product and most likely cheaper.

Yea, most of them are... they just use it to spray off the line to get a better launch. However a lot of them are using stock internals... maybe just cams... now thats impressive... 700rwhp on stock internals..
