So I see alot of people saying that a auto trans is crap and won't last if more power is added is there anyway to fix this?

I can't do a 6sp swap myself and i cant find a shop that will do it either.

I looked at the possibility of the av6 swap but was also told that it couldnt handle more power either.

Any help is appreciated

Just curious, when you speak of '...more power...' that an automatic '...won't last...' or '...couldnt handle...' what exactly / specifically do you have in mind for your 2G CL?

I've been out of the loop for a looong time, but I don't recall hearing the AV6 transmissions having any issues, or at least nearly as many issues as our stock transmissions have. My understanding this whole time has been they are essentially THE fix. Maybe if someone is having issues they are beating the shit out of it, which would happen in any case with any AT


(.... btw my transmission is still running like a champ. I have to throw that in there if I'm going to say anything bad about it)

 

saw some guy on youtube with a kit to bolt on an m90 to a j series. dont think it would fit in the cl engine bay without a hood cutout but theres other options than the comptech. do you have any thoughts master zeta?

 

I've had an AV6 in my 01 CL-S since 2018 and have had zero issues. But I hardly drive the car since I work from home and have for over ten years.
