Tranny is toast. What to do?

I don't think I am up dropping $4k to replace the trans. Engine runs great though at 191k on the odometer. Everything else is probably a 7 out of 10. What is the best option to recoup some cash?

1. Sell to junk yard?

2. Sell on CL as mechanics special?

3. Tax Write off from Kars for kids?

I am soooo not buying Acura again :-/

It lasted 191K and you are upset? I think that's pretty good really. You can try an Ammco shop, the job there should be less than $4,000. or find an Odyssey tranny and have that put in. The money to fix the tranny will be way less than buying a new or used car, right?

Well since you are soooo not buying Acura again, you can stop posting on this forum then for a tranny that was supposed to break before that and is was only for 4 years that issues with that trans.

You got 191k out of it all it needs is a trans, go to a junkyard broaden your search or stop whining.

Yes I had alcohol so yes I AM inebriated while posting this and do not care what you think.

Keep it buy a Odyssey trans and have another 200k miles of no issues with your car or leave. I don't care one bit with which you choose.

Search function is at the top, use it once in a while.

You shouldn't be complaining if you got 191K out of this tranny I've had 2 other vehicles a BMW and a Chrysler who's transmission's failed one @ 85k and the other @ 118K both regularly serviced so you got a lot out of this one. As a few have said do an Odyssey swap and it shouldn't cost 4k. Good luck whatever you choose.

My dad's crapped out at about 250k (had it replaced at 50k too), he spent $3500 for a new one cause the rest of the car is in such good shape.... If you think the rest of your car is good, replace it....
