tranny slippage

My girlfriend has started to complaign about her tranny slipping on her '01 CL-P. Of course, I wanted to witness it so I might get some idea of what's going on. What's happening--going from 2nd to 3rd, it doesn't want to catch. It'll rev up as high as I can take it until it finally catches. This is happening when it is in normal drive, not using sport shift or driving the car hard. Of course, Acura says they can't find anything. Please Help!

If the dealer says that they can't find a problem take it to another dealer. Make sure you ride in the car w/the tech.

I would fight with them . They need to do something , dont let them go that easy . call acura customer support if the dealer doesnt co-operate. Have you been able to duplicate it with a tech from the dealer.
It just seems to me that most of the technicians are very uninformed about this car. What is going on with acura, I know it is hard to get everyone trained , but this is sad.

I had a similar problem as did a few others on this board. I have a new transmission now and so far no additional problems (2K later).

Make sure you take a tech or the service manager for a ride with you driving to duplicate the problem. The problem does get worse, so if you can't duplicate the problem with a tech in the car, just drive it for a couple more weeks until the problem gets worse and then you'll be able to duplicate it. In the meantime, when you are faced with this problem (not being able to get into 3rd gear), use the sport shift to go from 2nd to 4th. Not the best way to drive, but it will get you were you need to go until your dealer can fix the problem.

I went to Acura of Mission Viejo in California and had a shift solenoid replaced first, followed by the transmission itself. Have your dealer call up Mission Viejo Acura if they have any questions. Alan (the service manager) handled all my problems.

Hope this helps. If you have any additional ?'s, ask away and I'll do my best to respond.
