here we go again.

answer this:

what are you petitioning for?

1) if you have a tranny problem, they WILL fix it under warranty, so what more do you want?

2) if you don't have a tranny problem, why would you want a recall and have to bring it in when there isn't a problem? the only thing you'd be doing there is inconveniencing the majority without tranny problems.

3) if they don't acknowledge they have a "widespread" problem, SO WHAT? it doesn't have anything to do with whether they will fix it or not.

if i had a tranny problem and brought it in, i could care less whether they fixed hundreds others or just 1 other, as long as they fix mine. so what's the freakin' big deal?

Or if its in the shop for 30 days ...or it might be 90 days...check the link.. http://www.autosafety.org/Lemonstate/loui.htm if you look at the qualifications it says 30 but in the text it seems like its 90....does anyone know? And it says 4 times.

'mrdeeno' Take a Time Out and Think Of the Other People

'mrdeeno'
U probably don't have to work 5-6 days a week to support the payments on ur CLS cause mabey mommy bought the car 4 u in cash . Well sry but we are not as lucky as u .

As 4 u 'Z' it is a very noble thing that u are doing. Especially tacking it up it an attorney. I took some time in reaching the Fla. Lemon Law and came up with some disaponting news. From what I read is that it the tranny gets repaired more than three times within 2/ys from the date of completion, then the Lemon Law comes into effect. But that is for repairs. If we payed for the repairs and the problem kept occuring. And the trannies were repaired more that three time within a two year period, then we are intitled to a 'new' tranny or a full refund. So since Acura is relplacing or trannies every time we run into a problem they are weaseling out of the Lemon Law.
But (this I am not 100% sure on) if this is taken to Federal Court, and it is deemed that the tranny is defective then a recall is in order. If Acura can't come up with a new tranny that is
bullet-proof at 260hp then a full refund is in order. But I can't recall that ever happening except mabey with the Pinto .
So mabey u could give this info to ur attorney friend and see what he has to say now about the Lemon Law.
Thanks :P

Juker008,

Are you sure about that? That would completely defeat the purpose of the Lemon Law. I'm sure it's any repair, wether you pay for it or not. And with the way things are going, you're better off going with the 30 day clause, since trannies are on backorder.

i think what he's saying is ...they're not repairing the tranny they're replacing it...and i see where he;'s going but the the car is being repaired by having it's transmisson replaced so there not looking for an out...its just acura does not do transmission work..and the lemon law would be in effect

I think ur right with the fact that I have a better chance of stickin it to them with the 30 day clause. Like I said my tranny went out and the fact that the trannies are in back order makes more avbious that there will be a call to ORDER. Too many pople have too many problems with thier trannies.
So let me get some thing straight, if Acura can't repair the tranny in 30 days then what? Do I then file a Lemon Law case?

Go to a competent Lemon Law attorney in your jurisdiction.

You wouldn't perform oral surgery on yourself, would you??

If you need a referral, I'd be pleased to provide one via private mail.

i work very hard 5 days a week, sometimes 6, sometimes 7.

i dont' have payments on the car because i paid it off with MY money which i earned, so before you start making assumptions about people, get your facts straight.

but if you are too close minded to accept there are people like me out there, the you can kiss my ass for all i care.

If it hasn't happen to u don't worry about it,
i have a response to settles all 7 of those....WARRANTY !

whether you petition or not, that doesn't change anything!

it will still happen!
it will still be a pian!
it will still be disappointing!
you will still not want it anymore!
if it happens again, it will still be fixed by warranty!
if you are out of town, and it happens, it's still happens!
the payment plan you have to work out!

so again, WHAT ARE YOU PETITIONING FOR!?

Is an attorney really necessary? Approximately how much will this cost you? If it's the typical lawyer's fees, you're probably better off just trading the car in and taking the financial loss there, instead of giving money to a lawyer and go through the whole hassle.

what the hell is wrong with people nowadays?

are we not allowed to ask questions anymore or otherwise be branded as "being on someone's nuts"?

i asked a simple question which you have so far failed to answer:

what are you petitioning for?

when people petition or file a lawsuit, it's usually for something and so far, i don't know what you're after.

OK, this thread is going nowhere and doing nothing other then creating trouble.....

Z... when you get some facts from your lawyer friend, please start a new topic. This one is closed since you and Mr. Deeno are just going to keep going back and forth. I admire your initiative, so keep on with this. Do some research, get some facts (what would initiate a recall, what the lemon laws really are, etc.), then move forward. Who knows, after you do research Mr. Deeno may be correct. Without facts, it's just another letter to Acura.....
