Tranny Fluid Leaking

Mods, I just wanted to put this in the main forum so I can get some more visibility.

When my headers were being installed, the shop let me know that my transmission, the area around where the drain plug is cracked. This is leaking tranny fluid every so slightly. I changed the tranny fluid, but everything was torqued up to spec. The shop said most likely air tools over-torqued the nut causing the casing to crack a bit. I am perplexed how this may have happened.

Anyone else have this issue? Two solutions are to get the tranny casing welded or replace the entire casing. Any other ideas?
