Trading in for the 2002

I'm considering trading my '01 for the '02. I know I'm going to take a loss but if I can get some one to buy the car from me rather than trade it in, maybe it won't be so bad.

My reason for trading in primarily is that I regret not getting the Nav, I now know I would be using it constantly. Additional bonuses are the new front end, the 6 speed and whatever else they add.

So how much of a loss can I expect considering $2000 more for the Nav plus $500-1000 in general price increase?

What else am I not considering?

well considering you will get around 24K for yours and the new one will be around 32K maybe slgithly more considering taxes and all. you would loose around 6 to 7 grand in the deal . I would say save your money . but then again it isnt mine

Neech: I agree with thholr. Save your money because you will be getting hit with the greatest amount of depreciation (first year) and not getting much more as a car in the process. If the/a NAV system is the MAIN reason for your consideration to 'give up' what you have now, have you considered some sort of aftermarket navigation system that can be put into your car?? Just a thought. Hope it helps. In case you do make up your mind to trade or sell, best of luck and let us know how you make out.

Don't trade it in, unless you really wanted a 6 speed manual.

If all you want is the navi, for about $4,000 you can add a pop-out video panel, alpine navi unit, alpine dvd player, and have it gaming system ready. Less if you don't also want the dvd player.
You can also add this custom system to your auto insurance. If you have problems with your car, you can pull it all out and sell the pieces.

Fast Daddy-
W/o the gaming unit and the ability to play DVD movies, the popup panel and the Alpine Navi sound interesting. How does Alpine compare to the ones in the CL? And what would be the cost just for that upgrade?
