anyone else up for F1 race?
That's exactly why it was a decent race! MS wasn't winnning!!!
Montoya just wasn't the same after that last pit.
And too bad Ralf went out.
He was going really good too. Then of course DC doesn't even make it through a single turn so now MS has a 37 point lead. Unless something drastic happens there's no chance for anyone else at this point already.
That's just no fun.

Yup I am one of the nuts that woke up in the morning for the race as well. It was actually a pretty decent race and I am glad to see Hakkinen win especially with all the retirement rumors and his finish in Spain... that had to suck.
I think Schumi was not as competitive because of the one stop strategy and a setup that was geared to be flexible in the case of rain. I think he did a good job with the car he had and the new Bridgestone hard compound.
I honestly think that Montoya had a very good chance to get second place for this race, if it weren't for him having to hold back while Ralf and Barrichello were fighting for position. He was obviously quicked than both Ferrari's and the Williams of Ralf Schumacher. The last pit stop was very poor for Montoya... think it was 10 seconds... and the tires must have been faulty because he could no long gain on Barrichello. All I know is that the Williams BMW launch control system kicks major ass.... for him to jump from 8th to 5th before the first turn is incredible. He was able to jump from to 3rd after the contact between Coultard and Trulli.. which I believe was the fault of each of the drivers.. Coultard pulled over into Trulli, while Trulli was starting to understeer though the turn.. hence they rubbed... throwing them into the gravel trap.
Ok I like this race stuff to much.... you can read alot of the info on www.f1-live.com they have a really good site for the F1 fanatic.

Yup, I havent missed a race in 4 years. This was a decent one. Overall hakinen drove a great race , schumi had the wrong strategy , but I dont think he could have kept up with him either way . Glad to see mclaren is back . Coulthard made a stupid mistake yet again . I guess he didnt see trulli.
A little diaapointed with BMWs performance , but I guess it could have to do with michelins.
Hockenheim should prove to be very interesting for BMW.

I support them , but I am more supportive of the Jordan Side than the BAR side. Considering they have the same engines, BAR seems to be doing something wrong, since they cant seem to match the pace of the Jordan . I think trulli would have had a good race. Besides the cars look sweet.
I agree-Craig Pollock and company need to get a chassis fix quick. I heard HOnda is only supporting one team in 2003. Jordan's cars always seem better prepared and sorted. I like their colors and their attitude ("Bitten Heroes") JV is throwing his career in the toilet by staying with BAR, luckily he has a performance clause in his contract which permits an exit if the car doesn't perform. Now, if Mika quits, JV could partner his best friend DC in the 2nd McLaren and life would be GooD!!
Well the Honda engine is one of the weakest of the group... probably in this order.
1. BMW
2. Ferrari
3. Mercedes
4. Honda
5. Ford Cosworth
6. Asiatech
7. Renault
So with the way Hockenheim is setup.. very high speed, low downforce setup... which falls right into the hands of Williams BMW.... reliability is going to be the main thing with them though... if they can stay running.. they will win.
Honda should improve by next season... but will it be enough to match the extra horsepower that Ferrari and BMW can get out of their engines.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Hey Guys!
Glad to hear there are more F1 nuts like me out there!
In fact I am addicted so badly, i became a Race official a few years ago. Just finished my second year at Montreal as a Flag Marshal.
Found out first hand this year about what certain teams use for Ballast (can you say depleted uranium!)
We have a 01 Type S Black. Pretty much stock, just change the lights. (high beams, driving lights)
Good to have people interested in F1.
