Tradin in a 2001 CLS

If I trade in a 2001 CLS for a 2002 CLS 6-speed stick, would I need to go through the inspection process?
I plan on trading in my 2001 to the same dealer I once bought it from, and plan on purchasing a 2002 from them also. If I brought in my 2001 to them would they just look at it and simply give me a price and be on my way to a new 2002, or would I have to wait for them to inspect my car (putting it on the lift, etc.)
I'd figure that since I bought it from them and that I'm only 10 months into my 3 year warranty that they would look past a through vehicle inspection. I believe that they would come outside look at the car all done up washed and waxed and give me full blue book value. I mean its not a clunker, its brand new and under warranty, and I trading it into the same place I bought it from, Acura for Acura.
So to anyone who has had an Acura that traded it in for the same senario please let me know.

Yes, I would like to know to. How much do you expect to pay extra for this trade in?

It sounds like you don't want them to look at the mechanical aspect of your car. What's wrong with it, if you don't mind me asking?

If anything is wrong with the mechanical part they have to fix it under warranty, then give you the full blue book value.

Why would you worry about this now? Plus, this is the second topic you started on this....I'll close the other one.

The 6-speed isn't due out until sometime next year. Some are saying spring as a 2002.5, some are saying fall as a 2003. Who knows, but either way, you have some time.....

Just plannin Ahead

I would like to know how they would go in giving mt Blue book value. Would I have to make time in the day for them to inspect my car. To have them come back and tell me that there is a scratch on the car or that there is a stain in the interior, just crap that I don't want them to come up with just to save a few bucks off me.
When I purchased the car all I did was call, make reservations to purchase the car, brought the check, filled out 5 min. paper work, and I was in a new CLS. Will the same thing happen here?
What I want to know is, will it be a too the point sale or will I have to haggle with the dealer just to get the full Blue Book value?
So tell me are they gonna put my car on the lift and give me the run around?

YOU MUST BE DREAMING if you think they are going to give you "FULL" Blue Book Value!!! ... They use the NADA's Book - (National Auto Dealer's Association) average trade-in value!
It's yellow/gold colored - the same size as Kelly's Blue Book.

YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE A MAJOR LOSS unless you sell it "Private Party" !!!

Err, most times they drive the car and look it over cosmetically. They aren't going to go over it with a fine toothed comb.

Also, no you don't have to get it inspected to trade it in. In most states at least =)
