totaled my cl
after treating my car like shit for about 10 months, it finally happened, I totaled my car last night. I was racing this honda civic in a parking structure in Brea, Ca. Of course I was ahead of him the whole time in the parking structure, but as the structure ends, theres a bridge that turns to go out to the street. Well I hit that wall almost head on going about 70. My car hit the wall and bounced back and hit it again. I bent the front and rear wheel axles. the wheels on the left side were all about 60 degrees off normal. My CAI got fucked up, cuz I hit that straight on. All the air bags popped out, including the ones in the actual seat (didnt know we had). I had a passanger with me, his door actually opened during the inpact, and I guess I pulled him back in before he fell out of the car (don't remeber this) so he's all happy I saved his life. Well I dont know what Im gonna do now, with insurance I mean. I have full coverage, what am I going to get outta this accident? ill post pics soon. good bye cl, I guess it was going to happen due to lack of respect for the car...

70 mph into a concrete wall and you didnt die?? wow, another example of the safety of a CL...and why the hell would anyone race inside of a parking structure...not too smart....i cant wait to see pics of this...70 mph into a wall should have just basically caused the front of thecar to explode!! thats a haaaard collision, i find it hard to beleive that at 70mph there werent any significant injuries....

If you’re a hard working kid that paid for this car on your own I feel sorry for you and you’re about to learn a valuable lesson in financial responsibility.
Get ready to pay 4000+ a year insurance for the next 5-years on your 1990 Honda civic.
If Mommy & Daddy bought the car I’m sure they’ll get it right next time.
Maybe they’ll buy you a ZR-1 or Viper so it handles better in the corners while you’re illegally racing on the streets.
Or better yet, ask for a Lincoln Navigator next time so it goes THROUGH the wall instead of stopping.
I’m glad you’re not seriously hurt, but your attitude definitely needs some repair work.

well, on the police report, it says i was going 40mph. yes i do take responsiblity for my actions, and it was my fault for having some fucked up bald tires, and losing control. im not sure if i was going 70, but i remeber that i was in 2nd gear on redline when i hit the wall. The insurance is under my dad, not me. I am 17, and I do not pay for the car. it was seriously a good place to race, this parking structure is huge, its just on my way out, there was a sharp turn and I didnt see it, it was my first time there. the civic was cool, he just chilled with me till the cops came, and even went to the hospital for about 2 hours.

Glad to hear you are safe. But racing in a parking garage??? How can you say it was a safe place to race??? I don't know where you live...but the parking garages in my city are not racer friendly. Parking garages usually have very slick surfaces and would not be a safe place to have a foot race...let alone a car race.

talk about arrogant, "it was my fault for having some fucked up bald tires and losing control" thats disgusting...should have been more like "its my fault that i am incredibly immature, have no concept of responsibility or the value of a dollar, and totally have no right driving a car at all until i grow up a bit"

Well - I hit someone at around the same speed (40mph on police report)2 years back --damn firetruck was crosing the street and it blazed across Walnut Street in Philly and the cars slammed on their brakes and I went into the back of a car--luckily it was stolen and the guy just took off...But now I have had to wait 3 years ( 1 more year to go) before I can get my own policy...But my parents insurance went up about 20 bucks a month because I was and still am, on their policy...just to give you an idea of cost...You will now have to wait 3 years to get a decent insurance rate and you kinda screwed your parents....But now you might wisen up somewhat and count your blessings!

Sorry to hear about what happened. I didn't even get to meet up with you at school yet. As long as your safe it's all that matters. We all make mistakes, so we just have to learn from them.

I think everyone would agree who hasn't already posted that we're all glad you're alright....
but man... are you nuts? Racing in a parking garage? 17 yrs. old with a CL-S. I hope mommy and daddy learned their lesson. I'm going to guess they didn't b/c they bought you a 260hp car in the first place. Oh well, what can you do? Hopefully daddy's insurance will go sky high and he'll learn his lesson that way... I blame him as much as you. This has got to be one of the stupidest things I've read..... thank god you're oK, but I hope your CL is totalled and daddy buys you a Toyota Echo or something....

Now I know why my Dad refused to let me drive his Camaro until I was 19 and in my second year of college...
I could only imagine what that man would have done to me if I would have wrecked that car... He woulda beat my ass!!!

No one here was adopted his internet parents so don't be so fucking compelled to jump down his throat. I am SURE that you have made a stupid mistake once or twice in your life. Stop standing on his neck like your any better. We all make mistakes. How many people here admit when they were wrong? Not many, and in more or less words, he did.

He says the accident happened due to "lack of respect for the car". He also said it was his fault for having "fucked-up bald tires", and "loosing control".
He never did admit that racing in a parking garage 70 mph is wrong.
HELLO?
