1sicklex you know what the deal is with the porsche's, you hit it right on the money. The 996's are cool too but I prefer the air cooled engines, and raw driving of the 993.

AC, What is really good!?!?
I don't really know...I've always wanted a 993 C4S but then the 996 C4S looks bad ass. Never could afford a $120K+ car so I always stayed away from the Turbo version. Thought about getting a used 993 til I spoke to the owner of Porsche Pitstop and he stated that the 996 are much more tuneable. There is a 911TT X50 Turbo for 996 and it's suppose to be badass...

I still want to run with Skinsfan just to see how I do...I know I'll get beat but want to see what my car is capable of.

I will admit that now that I drive a RS6, can't get anyone to run with me...I'm trying to run either a M5 or a Z06.

Um.... first of all, I paid for my last few cars without taking any type of loan... all funds were 100% mine. Believe it or not, I don't care.

Secondly, don't be an e-bully. You shouldn't threaten someone you don't know. Don't get mad or anything, but when I see guys driving around in "older" Porsches and such, I just think that they're the guys that are pretenders-- pretending to own a car they could not afford new.

Kinda like some of the old Jamaican guys at work-- they all drive Mercedes Benzs.....only problem is that they're the older styles. But if you ask them what kind of car they drive, their eyes light up and they smile as they tell you "Mercedes, mon"

And third... I don't care what about a 96 911... it's old school now... get with the program. I prefer the most recent body style and the added power is a plus.

Actually, noob, I've only owned 3 automatic tranny cars in my entire lifetime.... every other car has been a manual transmission. Except for the SMG M3 (I wouldn't classify that as a manual or an automatic)

But nice try though.....

Why would you go from a SMG M3 to a CL, you sound like one of those Jamicans at work who talk about their cars in their wonder years.

Tom2 I got the car new in May of 1995 so eat shit. Don't try and talk trash to Reddly, are you upset that he doesn't spend his entire life in front of the computer on the Acura forum and have 3000 posts like you.
I am sure Reddly spends his time doing other things like getting pussy. You should try it sometime. Or are you gay???

Gay? No, I'm married.

I never said you didn't buy the car new... I simply said that when I see guys driving older bodystyle cars (like that Porsche), they just look like posers that can't afford a new one.

That's one of the reasons I sold my 99 M3 and got the E46 M3..... my shit started looking tired, even though it was in showroom condition.

Now get your broke ass down to the Porsche dealer and buy a CURRENT 911....your shit is old.

Hahahhaa... funny noob.

Here's a little history lesson for ya...

I bought my CL-S in March of 2000 (yup, one of the first CL-S to hit the roads) it was a 2001 model.

Then I got my 2nd M3. It was a E36 M3....1999 model. I got it because I missed my 1st M3, which was also an E36 M3...1998 model. I had realized that I made a big mistake by buying the CL-S and wanted an M3 again.

Then I got my 3rd M3. It was an E46 M3....2001 model. Got a bit of bad luck and got one with the "engine grenade" problem. No more M3 for me. And now I don't even want another one.

Tom tell me again how you could possibly go from a M3 to a CL, even with an engine grenade, or whatever you called it, you probably blew up the engine cause you couldn't drive stick, but thats besides the point. No one in there right mind goes from a M3 to a CL unless they are married and are having sex with men on the side, its alright, just fess up to your wife i'm sure she'll understand. Come on AC stop crying we're just having fun

Didn't your brother just have a bad parking experience in DC with the CL? Granted, you could of got another CL, and didn't.

Okay, noob... I'll break it down for you (again) retard style.

1- I owned the CL-S before my 99 M3 and my 01 M3

2- You should know that the CL-S was out before the SMG M3

3- Engine blew because of a known defect (too small bearing clearances) in the M3. The blown engine was attached to an SMG gearbox, not a traditional manual trans... so driver error had zero to do with it

4- Yes I am married. No, I will not consider having sex with you on the side.

5- Buh-bye

Yeah, the car was hit while parked on the side of the road by a moving van (while my BROTHER was borrowing it)..... I'm surprised you remember that....

But you're right, I could have gotten another CL-S.... but at the time, I was more in the mood for the M3.

At the time I was a lurker on the board. But, more than once you've had to explain to a new member why you are here, other than your Resident obligations.

Tom, you had an '01 ///M3, right? And it was SMG?

I thought SMG came out in the '02 model, and the '01 was strictly a 6spd only??? Or maybe I'm wrong...

Edit: After doing some research, now I'm really confused. You've said before you had an '01 M3 and the engine bombed. And in this thread you said it was SMG. The '01 model didn't have SMG after doing a quick bit of research.

OOPS!!

True indeed, the 01's were firs E46 M3's and only came in 6spd manual. SMG didn't hit til 02.
