Unhappy Too good to be true?

Does this seem like it's too good to be true?

Autotrader link to a car.

Seems a little too good to be true.

Also, it says the car's in NY. But it's pictured with palm trees. So I's thinkin' it's a fraud.

Some banks will sell a repo for what is owed on the note. So it IS possible this is for real but I doubt it. I'm with HBaJ thinking more like $17,000. But just for a sec, I'm gonna think [outside the box] here and say maybe it's owned by a finance company in NY and the owner skipped town. Then, they found the car in FL, looks like Miami, repoed it, and rather than ship it back and sell it in NY, they're just going to sell it where they found it. Hey, I don't know, I just thought I'd add my brain fart to this thread.

BTW: It's a nice fuckin' car though!

it's a scam, there was two NSX's very nice one's for cheep money. the number don't work and when u e-mail the guy they give u no info other then thier in the UK and the car is in the shipping companys hand and to give him ur info so you can send him a deposit. total bullshit. plus they all seem to be in NY, NY. plus the phone numbers start with 4xx or 0xx

btw one NSX was on e-bay and the same exact pictures where on autotrader with the same description. i think the e-bay one is real. i bet this car is also on e-bay by the real seller.

Update

It sure as hell is a scam. I e-mailed him. And this is what I have recieved.

Hello,
Sorry for delay.

First of all thank you for your e-mail regarding my car. It's a great car. My girlfriend is devastated that we have to sell it but we have to pay too much money for register it here in Europe, so we decide to sell it. My company have relations in USA and i worked there for 2 years. I purchased the car from there and bring it with me when I come back. The car was purchased from US, so it is US standards, so stay cool it's perfect compatible to your standards and you will not pay more duty taxes on it. And this is an impediment for me to sell it here because, first, we have a different standards and second will be very expensive for me to register it here. I have to
pay an very expensive duty taxes. The price for this car is $7,000.00USD .
The car it is still register in States. What other info. would you like on it? It will be shipped from London, United Kingdom and i will pay the shipping and insurance charges. I will do the arrangements for shipping from here.

The payment will be done via secure pay which means that the third party will keep the money until you will receive and inspect the car.
I will wait for your email to let me know if you are interested in knowing more details
about the purchase.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Well, I'm not so sure I'm convinced it's a scam. He does have a good point about shipping overseas and registering it there. Very expensive! One thing that I'm confused about is... Did he buy it overseas or did he buy it here in the states. That statement raises some eyebrows I think.

I was going to say it was a scam...

Some scammer had ShawnS's car on autotrader (they pulled the pics from his ebay auction).

SCAM…SCAM…SCAM…
Right after my car was on EBAY someone stole the photos, description and VIN and tried to sell it for like 10-grand using the “overseas” angle.
Someone recognized my car from the EBAY ad and told me about it.
The ad was pulled before I could contact them.

You’ll be absolutely and positively sure right after you lose your money.

Its definetly a scam. A friend at work actually followed through on an M5 that was for sale from Sweden for I think $13,000. Anyway, he put the money in the "escrow" and never saw it again. The authorities are now looking into it, but the deposit is as good as gone according to them.

scam.. ive seen it 100 times.. i even set up fake deals with these guys saying i will meet them in london because i would be there on business and pay cash for it... they back off real quick and tell u that they need a deposit or they will only accept a wire transfer or something like that.. some of them even pretend to be us army... but none of them write in english very well...

there was a post on here some time ago about one of the members messing with one of these scammers... he even got the guy to send him a picture of himself holding up a sign or something.. imm gonna look for it...

i think all of these scammers are from africa...i know in nigeria they do alot of scams like this.. they send out mails saying they need to transfer money into ure account so they can get it in to the US but htey just end up taking all ure money...
