Too Bouncy?

A lot of you guys in the Cl forum have got your rides lowered. Well I still got my H&R's in a box ready to be installed. My main concern with installing the springs is what would happen if I install using the stock shocks. Iv'e heard from a couple of people that the ride will be bouncy, but would it be like a towncar? My baby is at 73k miles, so I figured that MAYBE it would be smarter to just change to aftermarket shocks. So what do you guys think?

With that many miles i would recommend new shocks to go with those springs. It will be a better longer lasting ride.

will ride bouncy, but cushiony, some may welcome the floaty ride but its will handle like crap.

I have my H&R's in the box as well and just ordered bilstein sports... I have 86k on my CL and the stock shocks seems to be still very good but decided to get new shocks for good measure.

I know that it will be somewhat bouncy, but I am pretty sure it will still be much better than the stock cl-p crappy suspesion. I was more concerned if it would cause any damage/ leaks due to the dropped ride height.

It will eventually get so bouncy that you won't be able to stand it anymore and will eventually have to pony up the money for new shocks. Just do it all at once and save yourself labor later..

Marcus (Mr.Heeltoe) wrote a great article about this subject. Click here link .

First time I had my car lowered, I just kept my stock shocks on. For awhile, it is comfortable but it starts to get very bouncy. So I installed tokico blue. Now, the ride has been great. And plus, usually the fee is the same for installation if you either just install springs or shocks w/ springs. You can get a great deal on shocks on ebay from "jdmwerks13".

But read the artcle.

With that many miles, almost ANY upgraded shocks (even OEM replacement) are going to improve your handling and ride. JDMwerks on eBay has KYB GR-2 ($180/set) and Tokico Blues ($259/set) and both are nice if you're only getting a moderate drop. I actually replaced my Blues for the GR-2's because I wanted slightly softer valving and I love 'em, no issues for 12K miles. For a lot more money and better performance, I'd of course get Bilstein Sports or maybe Koni Yellows, although they're a bit too stiff for my liking.

Yeah, it is a moderate drop and I am not planning on spending too much for super stiff shocks. When you say set do you mean 2 or all 4?
