TL CT Exhaust on CL

If I buy a TL Comptech exhaust for my CL, will there be any difference? If so, what and can it be modified easily?

They are ALMOST the same exhaust. I bought a used TL comptech exhaust from a buddy. The only difference between the two is that the one made for the TL is a little bit longer.......what i mean by this is that the tips don't completely hide behind the bumper. Instead, they come out a little bit past the bumper. Personally I really like the way it looks because with those tips sticking out, it makes the care look more aggressive!

Hope that helped!

actually its the exact same thing, the reason why quick silver noticed this is because the TL has a longer bottom rear bumper.

in fact same part number for accord, cl and tl for springs, sways, headers and exhuast from comptech

WRONG!!!

The Accord/TL/CL-S have DIFFERENT part number! They are essentially the same mufflers, but the hangers are a little different.

I bought used CL-S CT mufflers and the box only said CL-S, no TL-S or AV6...i called CT and asked them, they said yeah, same mufflers, but hangers are in different location maybe 1/4 - 1/2 inch difference.

You can't tell the difference...if you put them on, you would think you bought the right ones.

Ok, They did change it. At first they were using the same part#, and then they changed it to better fit the CL-S. Which makes sense since my mugen exhaust was about 2" longer then stock(maybe more)

Won't look right and the TL mufflers are different than the CL. Different lengths/different tips.

Old thread I know, but would like to know the answer to the above question. Is it a direct fit, and will the tips stick out past the bumper? If they do stick out, would modifying the hangers correct that pretty easily?

they need to be shortened. they do stick out. hangers wont fix it, the piping is just too long from the cat back. a custom shop could handle it tho. good luck

like the above poster said, i don't think modifying the hangers is the correct procedure. the piping is longer and the tips are longer. a shop can replace the piping quite easily so the tips accomodate your bumper. shouldn't cost more than $100-150.

How are you going to modify them? You can't move them back at all because the B-Pipe is still the same length.

The easiest thing to do is purchase the correct axle-back exhaust in the first place. The TL exhaust really looks odd and out of place on the CL.
