Tint shops...

In South Florida which can be reliable on installing vynil?

I already went through a second round of retiting my back window, and rust (or mold) was still being generated after a couple of months on the dotted area.

I finally took the tint out of the dotted area, and I am not liking the look. I was suggested to install vynil.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

the tint shop that I take my car and a lot of my friends take their cars is A-1 Alarms and Tints off US-1 and about 92 st. Its right across from Shortys BBQ and on the opposite side of US1 of a Burger King. I'm not sure about the vynil but they do a pretty good job and they'll do any % tint.

actually many people has it titnted over the dots with no problems. Depends on the shop. Mine will do the dots, and rarely see rust.

i have seen my car right after it got tinted and I did not have them tint the dots, so I got the vinyl and it looks pretty damn good.... At first I was not sure if I liked it, now like it a lot . I would send a picture over but my back window just blew out for no apparent reason 5 days ago so I have to retint it.

^^ bump

I went and got vynil installed. I didnt like it and took it out (no charge).

I then went to my tint shop, and they installed 3% tint in the dotted area, which looks awesome btw.

In the case of rust (or mold) appearing in the future, It wont look that bad.

Will take pics when I can,

I was offered a strip of something over top of the black dots because they are so close together on the CL to really make it stick to the window.

I didn't do that since I had 35% done so you can't really tell there is anything on the windows. Wish I would have gone 20% all around...but tried to stay legal.

35% looks fine with no tint on the dotted area,

I got 13% tint all around and no tint on the dotted area looks horrible.

3% now makes it look tight.

What do you mean stay leagel? In NJ you can have any tint you want on the any windows besides the front winshield(obviously), and the front side windows. Any tint on there now, even if it is 35% is illegal so it wouldn't of made a difference.

Wait 3% on the windows? Isn't that kind of dark? Post some pics, I would like to see how it looks.

Yea, I should have said, keeping it 35% all around doesn't make it look so bad, but had I gone 20% it would have been dark enough to justify pulling me over. I dont like the idea of mixing percentages because it looks bad, IMO. I have thought about getting 50% on the front window because of night time driving....

I don’t know why people here say that so often.
You guys must have seen some HORRIBLE tint jobs.
Either that or they were doing 5% rear and 50% side.

My car is 35% side & 20% rear and I get complements whenever someone sees it.
I think that’s the BEST way to go in states like NJ & PA where side tint is illegal.

go to tint world, they did mine very well, no bubles and they did the whole back too. They have shops all over south florida. I watch they do alot of it and they are very thorough. If you want me to get you the number just pm me. I did 20% all around, no point in mixing percentages, the front will look lighter anyway since more light comes through the windshield and it makes it have that effect. The cops wont bother you, maybe if your going 147 like some people on the bored they will give you every ticket possible and measure you tint, but besides that it looks legal and you'll be fine.

i paid like around 115 or 125

take that shit out and redo it with lifetime warranty tint.

I go to Tint Land on Sample and Powerline Road, although they did and awesome job with my Altima, they had the rust (or mold) problem with my CL. They say its a unique case.
