Tint and Rust again

I had this problem before (no pics available tho), where the dotted part of the back windows will start rusting making it look orange.

This is my first post from last year: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...highlight=rust

My back windows was retinted (it took 4 hours to do it), and it seemed to be a perfect job. 4 months later I can see rust appearing on portions of the dotted area.

I was suggested to just leave the dotted area with no tint.

Why does this happen?

Did the first place re-tint it?

Edit I see in that last post they did re do it. Sounds to me the tinter just messed it up. Both times! I'd go somewhere else. My car has been fine for a year.

As I told you in your other thread, the dots are made out of a material that will rust. Your tinter probably tried to sand the dots down which exposes the material under the paint on them. He thought it would make the tint sick better but what he really did was create an area where water and metal could breed rust.

You really only have two options now:

1. Don't tint that area

2. Place vinyl over the dots

I am pretty sure they did not sand the dots. I was there both times it was tinted.

I will guess I will need to take that out.

Either way I would make them give you the money back so you can have another shop give it a try or just try vinyl so you won't have to worry about it
