time slips from gainesville raceway last night

I was #34. Just so everyone doesn't have to ask my mods are: i/h/e, underdrive pulley, jet chip, 75 shot NX. I was also running Nitto Drag radials.

as you can see, this guy is being honest about nitrous. he ran a 14.2 also with your mods. I have nothing against your nitrous use. I just don't like when people use it, then come to lie on the internet.

And at that moment, did you get any traction ?

I think you can do better with practice if you can keep your 0-60 ft in the 2,1x range (or even better). Seeing your slips, you are a little bit inconsistent with your launch; I would say it has potential for 13,5 with these drag radials (I searched and found other members that did 13,7 with nitrous and CAI only, and auto too).

Good luck man !!!

He thinks I'm lying about having nitrous ..... He thinks it is impossible for an auto CL-S to run 14,25 with the mods I have.

that's dumb. I have a stack of timeslips in the 14.30's and below. with I/H/E/P

and the night I ran 14.16 I backed it up with a 14.17.

it was only 50 degrees that night though.

matt how come I can't run those times? I have an '03 TLS, with ct icebox, ct headers, and ur crank pulleys. The best I've ever run is a 14.82 @ 94mph. Going in this weekend is mugen t-stat, fan switch, and radiator cap. also redline water wetter, and new coolant. Did you have cooling mods on those runs?

if you ran a 14.2 in 78 degree weather/88 humidity, then technically you'd run a 13.XX during the fall, when its 40 degrees at the track. Now we all know that there is no way in gods green earth that a naturally aspirated auto cls can run a 13. therefore your lying. period

There could be a few things
A) something is wrong with your car
B) something is wrong with you
C) bad gas
C) maybe your VTAK sticker placement is off

Either way, you are stupid if you bought the car thinking you would go fast, you should have purchased a real sports car.

Lol you didn't do your homework before you purchased the car. It is a "sport-luxury" car, not a "sports car". The car has some get-up-and-go, but it is by no means a fast sports car.
Go buy a GTO or corvette for speed.

Your the retard who races dodge neons on the streets!

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175591

Please stop street racing neons, and go to the dragstrip, before your immature ass kills someone.

lol you really do have a lot of time on your hands. you are so cool, bringing up a post that is completely irrelevant to the thread. Did you notice how I posted that in the "Street Encounter" thread?

anyway, go buy another fast car so you can leave this forum kgnightthnxbye

I can tell you that on average TL-S times aren't as quick as CL-S times. not sure why.

no, those quick N/A runs were before I had cooling mods.

all cars, tracks, conditions etc... are variables. no need for you to act like a troll and insinuate that we're all liars.

both cars weigh about the same. I can also verify that typically on a 70+ degree day with humidity, a cls w/ I/H runs high 14.s.

I'm just speaking from what I've seen on these forums in the last 5 years...

there will always be some cars that run faster and slower than average. there are just too many variables.

I can tell you that gate shifting and a proper launch is key to getting good times in an auto CL or TL.

2.1x 60' or better is key.

the internet is hardly a good source for quantitative data, used in analysis. As for 60', the general rule is that for ever .1 sec, you drop, you gain 1.5 secs on the ET. So ultimately I don't think there is much difference between a 2.2X 60', and a 2.1X 60'.

Honestly why is this such a big deal for you guys? The guy(banana) used nitrous period. The only thing is he is doing what so many other guys are often tempted to do. Report your times, without listing the juice in your mod list. Auto CL/TLs with I/H/P will dyno anywhere from 234-240whp. Seems impressive, however, when you consider the weight of the vehicle ~3,500lbs+FWD, you can see why low 14sec et's are impossible, especially during the middle of the summer.

blah

I wouldn't say its impossible, not all motors are created equal. My dad has a 1995 Impala SS and he only took it down the track maybe 5-7 times total on different nights. He did a best of 14.8 with only a K&N drop in filter in florida's heat, he weighs problay 250 and my bro was in the car with him and he did the best of 14.8. Now there are many Impala SS that had many mods and couldn't even break into the 14's. Ive read about tons on these cars around the US that they could break 15.4 with I/H/E. There is alot that go in to racing to say that its impossible. how many miles are on those famous autos? are they slipping? Also like mentioned alot has to do with the drive and I have seen this first hand with friends.
Just thought I would give my .02 Nice times. by the way.

That's strange because I have a CL-S and my brother has a TL-S but he can beat me every time! It's always close, I'm maybe a half car length behind him, but every time it's the same, it drives me crazy

I know that temperature, humidity and elevation play a big part in the times also. In my old car the difference between 92 degrees and 100% humidity and 60 degrees and 0% humidity was nearly 1 second in the 1/4 mile. Big diffference.

60ft- 2.3
Et of 14.5

60ft- 2.2
Et of 13

???????

Did you mean to say, you gain .15 seconds on the ET. Because I've heard of gaining roughly .2 seconds on your ET for every .1 seconds you shed off the 60 foot time. Just thought I'd ask by applying what you said...

Any time slips of your TLS running a 14.8? Just curious, no harm implied.

PROOF that launches from idle result in quicker times. Did anyone else notice that?

Thanks Mike...

I will be doing some mods in a couple of months. I'm taking the car over to Jotech Motorsports here in the Dallas Texas area. I'm going to run it stock at the track and see what she runs. Get a few slips stock. Then run it again after each mod. I will let you guys know how it all pans out.

1st mod will be cold air intake with a filtercharger.

2nd mod will be the exhaust. or maybe the other way around.

I've read JoTech is the best shop to go to out in the city of Dallas. Btw, I should be moving back to Southlake Carroll by October. Hope to see you around in the meets.
