Time To Say Goodbye

Today I was forced to do what something that I felt must be done. Since my car which is only 2 1/2 yrs old has been in the shop at least 15 times, 4 times for tranny among other problems I have decided enough is enough. I am no longer the proud owner of my CL-S, but have sent it to the scrap yards only to be replaced by the 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Converible Limited Roadster. It was a sad day leaving a car in which the biggest question of the day was whether I would make it to work safely. I would like to thank all the people who made this experience so bad. THANK you acura service who could not understand why I would no longer want a car in which the gas pedal sticks while at 65mph while driving increasing speed when your foot is no longer on the gas.

I wish everyone luck and will miss my days, at least the good ones with my CL-S

I have a 6-speed, otherwise I wouldn't have bought a CL. Good bang for your buck and for what it is. Some people just seem to get lemons too, sounds like you had one. Not sure about Dodge/Chrysler quality, but good luck and congrats.

Matt,

I'm curious where did you end of getting 4 transmissions and 15 repairs done, was it Rick case ?

If it was, did they offer you any deal to get you out of the car and did you ever get to talk to the service manager about your problems ?

I understand where your coming from so its easy to see why you wanted out, i'm sure it was not a easy chioce.

good luck

Yea it was rick case and i talked to the service manager sal, but all he said he can do was put me in contact with Honda to open a case. Well that wasnt enought for me since my car is still in the shop there i went to chrysler and got a new convertible roadster and chrysler took over my lease. Acura is not even sure whats wrong with the car and when they do fix it, i am driving it over to chryselr and signing off. Honestly, even if they offered a better deal to get out of it, would you want a car that from the same company who you have had nothing but headaches with. I think Acura needs to take better care of the customer, plus they have yet over the phone to even offer me a loaner car, thats what I call crappy service. But it turned out ok, i am in a new car which is convertible and all the headaches are gone.

Matt,

Sort of in the same boat you where in, 01 CLS been in the shop 7 times, including a tranny replacement in less then 6months since i bought it ( you can read about it if you do a search under my screen name)

This week i will be going in the the 8th time as for some reason i'm only getting very bad gas mileage.

As for a car loaner, don't know why you had a problem, they have always offered me a car over 3+hrs of work no problems there.

Sal tells me i'm a rare case, but its becoming apparent i'm not, they did offer me and got approved for a 04 TL/Navi, but i'm not looking a 650 payment a month.

Well aleast your problems are over, for me there only starting, but i'm not going to walk away or let them off so easy especially if this is a sign of things to come.

Good luck ......
