Thumping Brakes after accident
Thumping Brakes after accident
My girl got in an accident 4 months ago, and I am just getting around to working out the kinks the idiots at my local Acura dealership said wasn't from the accident.
First of all, She side swipped a car and messed the front passenger side bumper back along the front fender and bent her rim and got a bubble in her tire. They had to replace a solid metal arm on the suspension on the passenger side.
now the problem is, I just put on her NEW rotoras today with new pads. But there still seems to be a slight vibration and the same loud THUMPING sounds. Not like tsk tsk, the sound the pads make, but a deep thump.
Please help, she really doesnt care, but I am anal about my cars being in perfect condition.

sounds like something is bent, especially since she was in an accident.
Naw, its nothing like that, it only happens when she brakes. Now that I changed the front rotors, it sounds like the thumping is coming from the rear. How the hell is it possible that she warped the rear rotors at the same time.
It only happens when she brakes hard, First a thumping but now there is no vibration in the pedal after replacing the front rotors.
My guess is that its the rear rotors, so if anyone has any suggestions before I go and spend the money, please speak up.

No it wasn't flat spots....
The problem was the rear rotors, I guess what happened was it was raining as we drove her busted up car home from Philly, pa to Pittsburgh. We then took it to the dealership where it sat for 4 weeks. So my buddy told me that the pads probably got set into the rotors where no rust accumulated and cause an indentation on the rotor.
I changed the rear rotors... and now its perfect, Thanks again everyone/
