Throttle Body Assembly

I hadn't driven my car in about 2 weeks. I took it out Saturday and it was idling funny. I drive to the store and back. On the way back, the car jerked and all the lights on the dashboard came on.

I brought the car in today and they told me there was a problem with the Throttle Body Assembly, amongst other things.

Anyone esle with this problem?

Just wondering!

That my dear sir is not something with the throttle body....it is your tranny...
Did it make hard jerking like it was in neutral and than suddenly popped into gear?

it wasn't like the transmission. I've felt that before in other cars. If it is, I'll make sure i get it replaced.

Thanks for mentioning it!

in neutral, the car would rev at 1, then go to 2.5, and then back to 1, etc.

the tranny felt fine.

when i first got in the car, the accelerator was stuck, i push it through, then the rough idle, then the lights on the dash came on...check engine, vsa...

they say they know the problem, i'll post more tomorrow when i see the repair order.

Throttle Body - Fixed, but I need an explanation!!

according to my service order, the tech pulled code 0505 idle control. after following the acura flowcharts, he found that the IAC(?) valve was out of spec. the throttle body was also replaced because it was sticking and because it came with the new IAC valve.

can anyone explain this to me?

IAC is the Idle air controller and it must not of been giving the computer the proper info about the incoming air. And from my hybrid honda days I believe honda doesn't sell just the IAC for any car, I think you need to get the whole TB unit or a used IAC from a wreck. Or maybe that was a map sensor?? hell I forget
