There are no ATF fluid connections for a tranmission cooler on an '01 CLS?!
I had my friend and another tech at the dealer look at the printed out instructions from scalbert and the ones from dustbuster regarding adding a tranny cooler to the car. Dustbuster's 3.0 has the right hookups but how the heck did scalbert add a tranny cooler to the '01 CLS when it doesn't have any circulation for the ATF fluid?
The only possibility is to add the cooler to the anti-freeze which is sort of circulated through the transmission area and cool that, but since it's thermostat controlled, you aren't doing anything to the temperature unless it's running over 190 degrees F, and at that point the thermostat takes care of cooling it.
So what gives?

Look behind the intake tract just behind the VSA throttle and orient according the following picture. This is the front hose connection for the trans fluid. It is the only external place where trans oil flows.
Refer to the red circle for the actual points where rubber hose connects to hard lines with spring clamps. The second picture is the rear connection.

I don't have a scanner at home so I can't capture the page in the Helm manual but for reference it is 14-175. Towards the bottom is a part called 'ATF Hose' which connects to 'ATF Filter Line'.
BTW, in less than 30 minutes I'll be hooking up caddy's cooler this very same way...

The last link is one I missed the last time around and is kinda helpful. If someone could post a HELMs manual pic with arrows showing the flow and where to add the cooler, that would be awesome.

Well, yes and no. You can actually remove the ATF Hose; it is attached to a barbed fitting the same as on the ATF Filter Line.
Once you look at the right area under the hood you will see it clearly. We did caddy's this morning in under an hour and that was with taking it slow due to him just having been driving for over an hour straight; we did't hesitate getting started...
