Are there big differences?
I'm sure this has been discussed before so Im sorry if I'm digging up some old bones. Are there big differences between the CL and the CL-type s? I'm just wondering what I could get out of my non type s. Am I hindered very much because of this?

i got a cl-p and i drive it as hard as a type s. when i get my comptech headers and nos for christmas there will be subtle differences in horsepower between the 260 hp type s and my 300+ hp clp. hehe.
Differences are:
S Type has:
~ Perforated leather seats with thicker side bolsters
~ Stiffer shocks
~ Slightly bigger rotors
~ 35 more horsepower
~ AT has TCS and VSA (non-S Type has only TCS)
~ S Type badging
~ Different 'wood' trim inside before 2003 model

Get there Type S, or you'll later reget it... Better yet, get a 6spd Type S with Navi, and you'll never have any regets (at least not car-wise)...
IF you want a car that rides like your mothers camry, then get the clp (or buy a camry).

I guess I should have titled the thread differently. Has anybody done any mods to a CL-P?
i have a silver 03 6spd with navi however one thing people often neglect to mention on this site it, unless you go to the track modifications on a car that will only be driven on the road will lead to nothing but trouble from the law. 225 hp is more hp than a majority of the cars on the road and will relitively quickly hurdle you into speeds that are unsafe, and will endanger your life as well as other around you.

please....
speeds are only unsafe if the car is in bad condition and the driver is inept... this isnt a reason not to mod a car.
sounds like an excuse from a kia owner.

I smell some Flap
Well most people dont have a 260hp car when they are 18 either.
And the CL-P is worth modding if you like it. It will benefit from mods as well as the Type-S. I had a loaner TL-P from the dealership and it didnt feel slow at all. The 5AT is geared pretty well and it makes the most of its power. In day-to-day driving the 225hp vs. 260hp are the same. The Type-S only has a distinct advantage once past 5k rpm.
Put some springs/struts on it, some tint & wheels and you'll have a car that is semi rare and looks nice.

Thanks guys, this is why I love this forum.
I will probably do some minor mods to it. Keep it simple. Plus after reading some of these threads its looking like its a caculated risk as far as warranty coverage goes.
