ok last month i posted how the car just started to shudder and shake like crazy for a few minutes then just went back to normal

well tonight on my way home the car started to shudder and it felt like the tranny was acting up then i look at my dash and the check engine light starts flashing. The next thing i know the car stalls and i pull over.

Try to start but she wont turn over. the battery is good. so i have no idea whats going on. try to start it again but this time i put my foot on the gas while starting it and she starts but she makes all kinds of weird noises and i shut her off immediately and then i notice a burning smell

so what is it? timing belt or fuel pump??? car has 62k miles and i recently got the a/c compressor fixed.

i have the extended warranty but is my car really messed up bad???

the tow company will have my car at the dealership in the morning...

It sound like strictly an engine problem, so i wouldn't worry to much about you a/c.

 

Sounds like bad gas or water in the gas. Try a bottle of that stuff that gets rid of water in your tank. I think it's called dry gas or something similiar

 

i guess this is the reason for your slow times

 

ONly check engine light ? No VSA ?
Did you check the tranny fluid when it was doing it last month ?

 

wierd...burning smell... check tranny fluid and usually when there is something wrong w/ a belt you wont smell it melting or burning unless its rubbing against somthing...but i doubt its a belt...

 

I had a similar occurance in my old prelude it turned out to be a burnt up oil pump. Which to say the least resulted in the engine running with no oil. Is their a grinding noise or is the car loud as hell?
If so the diagnosis usually isnt to good. However best of luck to you.

 

I had a similar prob with my 2001 CL-S. They put in a new BP station near my house so I started going there since it was more convenient. Not long after, my car would idle roughly, shake and shimmy sometimes etc. I immediately took it to my dealer and the service advisor asked what gas I used. When I said BP... he said STOP. So I did! Been running fine ever since! Are u putting BP in the car??? THEN STOP! =) Something about the additives they use screws up the engine. My service advisor is a cool guy and they always treat me right, so I trust him. Hope this helps!!

That's weird if it turns out being the gas. I have a 2001cl-s and i have always taken it to BP and to amaco. The whole life of the car so far. I have now 61k on the car.
