it sounds a little funny, the video doesn't sound exactly like i heard it in person

http://rbf351.com/CL-S/toys/header2/sound.MPG

now some pics

crappy stock a pipe out

damn that ugly

amazing how rusty it is, and it's only 1 year and 4 months old

looks so much nicer

rear header, just a FYI it is much easier to remove and install it from the top, all you need to do is remove the strut bar

bolts to the cat nicely

rear header bolts up nice too

so deos the front

clears axle and oil pan nicely

view from where i was, yes i know using only a jack to hold the car is dangerous

I can see myself!!

Good job RBF351, interested in coming to Nebraska to help with a six speed header install?

Also, thanks to Nashua for taking the time to coordinate this!

Nashua,
Please post/pm the terms and conditions on getting in on this groupbuy! I want to reserve and be one of the eventual twenty purchasers.

Thanks for your efforts.

update

the headers are not good

there are fitment issues

the leaks i had were not from the header to a pipe but from the header to the cylinder heads

the A pipe is on the wrong angle and won't let the headers tighten down flat onto the heads, which is cause a huge leak. i have to put the stock ones back on

This is what you do in this case...The following instructions have been repeated many times:
1) You attach all bolts and tighten the nuts by hand ONLY!
2) You torque the nuts of the headers to the block first
3) You torque the nuts of the headers to downpipe next
4) You torque the nuts of the downpipe to Catalic Conv third.

This should solve the problem Also, note that on the stock OEM headers the The holes of the screws on the headers to downpipe are larger then the screws to give a leeway so the headers can be tilted left or right... Just look at the OEM headers and you get the idea.

Then the pipes on the header themselves crack due to the stress. I can't beliieve you still have fittment issues on these headers Nashua!

If the headers came with gaskets, take them off and put the stock gaskets on. They will hold the seal better after the headers settle into shape from torque-ing them into place.

just tried what he said in how to tighten them down

they still do not fit correctly and are leaking from the head and no where else

i tried new stock gaskets, tightening them the way he posted and nothing fixes the leak

i'm sending these back to you tomorrow morning for a refund

Also make sure you have the stock gaskets in place at the heads. THey are re-usable but I couldn't tell from the pics if they are on there or not.

Hey Red, did you get your AW headers yet?

Tunaboy told me that after he picked them up from that ebay guy he installed them and had no fitment issues. He's liking the gains a lot, he just didn't have a lot of time to test them.

Got the tracking # soon as I ordered them.

Can't wait for the gains.

mod addict , you believe the thin steel oem gaskets should be used for the head to header assembly in lieu of the composite gasket included with header shipment? (i have continued slight leakage problems on the stone hrds since the original install)

YES, the oem gaskets took care of the constant leaks at the head flange!

and sorry my in-box is full,... I'll deal w/that later tonight

The OEM gaskets for the head flange worked better then the ones that came with the headers. You should be able to use the ones that came off the car.

Take a close look at the OEM gaskets,... the multilayer to single layer must help them seal better.

i seem to recall 2 distinct thin metal gaskets for each manifold flange. i'll check them and do the reinstall.
