Has anyone figured out how accurate our "Outside Teperature" gauge is? Or where the sensor is? Just curious...

 

The OAT sensor (ambient sensor) is located up front of the condensor on a stand alone bracket in the lower grille opening. Its accuracy is good underway or when engine is at ambient but can give a high reading from radiant heat (from radiator) if sitting stationary w/engine warm. I would say that +/-3F is fair under ideal circumstances

 

For what it's worth, i find mine to display about 8-10 degrees hotter than what the temperature really is outside and this is after I've been driving around for a while, not from idling, or stopped at a light. May not be the most acura-it thing, but I still like it.

I find mine to be plus or minus 2 degrees.. thought it was cool that it displays below zero readings got as low as -15 on mine..

Ok, anyone who lives in an area where their car displays -15F and it's accurate for the most part, has a serious problem. I think that cold has frozen up too many cells in your head :-) (j/k). I live on Long Island and hate winter.

I find our outside thermometer is off two degrees - two degrees too warm. I have an outside thermometer at home and the numbers are consistently 2 degrees off.

Mine seems to be high (7-10 degrees) when I first start up. But appears to be plus/minus two degrees whithin 5 or 6 minutes.

Mine is also very high when first started up... it ALWAYS reads the max of 113 degrees in the summer (that's when it's only 100-105 outside). The other day my car was in the garage and I took it out in the afternoon when it was 95-100. It read 76 degrees for about 10 minutes before finally catching up to the actual outside temp. It usually responds a little quicker than that.

 

Mine has always been pretty accurate, its consistant with my other car all the time. Its usually pretty high at first then drops to normal within 5 mins.
