I have a 01 CL with Navi and a couple of days ago my head unit started showing a tape error message. I'm trying to avoid paying over $100 to get the thing looked at... PLEASE HELP!!!

 

People still use tapes? I don't know what to suggest as far as getting it out. You could pull the entire dash apart and pull the deck but that seems like a ton of work.

 

where did get a tape from?

sorry I have no real advice, other than buying an aftermarket head unit

 

disconnect battery and see if the thing resets itself (get code first)?

Pull head unit and tear into her.

Risk breaking tape deck attempting to pry tape mechanism up to retrieve tape using small flatheads.

Only 3 options I see.

 

mmmm...i never even thought about using my tape deck. is there a tape in there still? Come to think about it I think I still have a boyz 2 men tape lying around somewhere that i might wanna bust out now

 

I use the tape player to listen to my iPod since my drive and play sux... The only problem I have with going after market is the navi system.

 

best bet is to try and reset the damn thing. either unplug the batt, pull the fuse, or unplug the unit from behind. get the code first.

if not, i hope you really like the tape, cuz ur gonna be listening to that for a long time.

i see cd stuck ALL the time, but never a tape...

 

my tape deck is slick. its like automatic. and tapes have better sound then i would have though

but yea butter knives FTW haha
