Taking off grey frame around the shifter

anybody know how to remove the grey frame around the shifter. I want to paint it. I tried search, but no luck

It just pops off.

Just use your fingernails or gently use a small flat head screw driver.

It's easy.

If you screw it up ... $127 part from Acura. I just had mine replaced under warrant because the tabs broke off and the boot kept coming loose.
