Ok guys. I just got finished tinting my tail lights using Nite Shades. But I oversprayed in one area and now I have a little bit of Nite shade on the car body (bumper). It's not safe to use turpentine on car paint, right? If not, what can I use to clean it up?

 

Rubbing compound. That's what I used on the rubberized under coating on my Accord.

oh, and if that doesn't work, try a clay bar. Used to use that all the time at the body shop.

 

I also noticed that I oversprayed on the fender. You can see the outline.

 

Anyone got pics of taillight tint on a white car? Preferably a TL

 

Tinted mine a few weeks back. You should have taken off the tail lights. That's what I did and it turned out great.

 

The finish on your lights looks kinda of matte. Isnt there something else you can use that gives the tail light a glossy finish?

 

Actually yes there is a way to tint plastic darker , go see somebody who makes up eyeglasses they use a system that tints the plastic and retains the shine .Wether or not it can be used on something as big as a taillight is anybody's guess but we used to tint motorcycle lenses with it but ofcourse they are much smaller .

Thought it might look cool, gives the back a more dynamic look. I might go over my tail lights again with a few more shades, though.

 

Where'd you get it at? Is it $48 for both lights, I'm assuming yes? Do you have any colored pictures of it?

 

I'm not entirely sure about this, but I believe that after you sprayed the nightshades on, if you then sprayed a clear coat on over that it would come out much glossier. i plan on doin mine this weekend and thats what i'm gonna do. i'll try and post pics as soon as i get a chance.

I want to tint mine too, but I am afraid of the cop. wat is the law on tinting taillight?

 

you got one cop in your town? idk do states have different laws? if you just do the top half, then it doesnt cover the brake lights, just the turn signal

 

i dont remember seeing a white, but there is Rons old tint on his SSM, do a search im sure itll pop up.
