That’s real nice info, but it means nothing until we see an “ORDER HERE” button.

And I wonder if they will fit the 6-Speed.
Comptech has TWO different items now because the original design didn't fit.

Ok. People are paying 1100 or so for comptech headers, plus installation (maybe). Has anyone considered to do the following:

Take your car to a place that will do custom headers. Get 3in headers put on, but that are separate, run those to 2 separate hi flow cat converters and then on to hi flow mufflers. 3in pipes all around.

The airflow would be so much higher with 2 headers and 2 cat converters. If comptech's give you 32hp max, i would guess that this setup would give you 50hp or more. Maybe someone with more knowledge could verify this.

Any thoughts? And i think the price would be comparable to comptech's.

Not sure, but I don’t think we have the room for all that under the floorboards, especially on a lowered car.

The difference is...

The 2 on the right are available to purchase, and the 1st one on the Left is NOT !!

So true.

Btw, the one rear exhaust header on the Prototype one really bothers me. You can't tell me that huge looping thing is less restrictive than the Comptech header. WTF. Plus the weight. These things must weigh at LEAST ten pounds more than the comptechs, probably a lot more.

it's not as easy as that, you have to study the flow of the headers

Hey you know what's really gay? If you followed the link and read the blurb about their headers, we're gonna end up with stainless steel production headers just like the Comptechs, not ceramic coated spooge headers. I love the smell of breaking in ceramic-coated headers in the morning.

Um... Heres a thought

The second and third ones are CARB legal. Is the first? Living in Cali I like to see that number on my headers.

it will be once it's put in to production, but you really won't have to worry about it.

A guy I work with just bought ceramic coated headers for his Mustang GT.
How much..........285 Shipped.

So sad we’re forced to pay 1000+.

the 5.0's and 4.6's also have the biggest following of any motor ever.

Too much flow, not enough back pressure... You'd be burning out exhaust valves. And would loose a little HP from the almost no back pressure... Might be ok with a turbo setup or supercharger. But not naturally aspirated.

Is it just me or does the prototype headder have smaller port openings than the comptech and oem headders?
it might be the angle of the pic. but I dont think it is...
I hope its just the picture cause smaller pipes would not = more hp....

Ceramic ones cool down quick! I have had some on a couple of my Camaro(s) before. Make a huge differece in temperature under the hood.

Of course they are just regular metal headers with a ceramic coating.

it's not cheaper... costs $$ to coat the headers.

Unless you are thinking of something I haven't seen before...

They must disperse heat a lot more efficiently. As you could almost touch them 5-10 minutes are I would shutoff the engine.

I have had DC sports headers for the GSR and the prelude and the ceramic was cheeper than the SS...thats why I was thinking they would be cheeper.

huh...

DUH on me, Stainless Steel is going to be a lot more than ceramic coated steel. Not stainless.

I forgot how $$ stainless steel is!

I'd rather have ceramic coated ones myself, after seeing how much heat they disperse! But toehrs may wan the looks of the SS ones.

Who really cares what they look like???

I'm interested in getting good gains for the least amount of $$$$, I don't care if there are Pink Polka-dots if they're cheap and effective.

It takes some time to get CARB cert. And for the money I WILL go with the CARB labled headers. I don't want to get caught without them.

it takes about a month after they are put into production. And if you are really that worried then be that worried. I've had my car pulled over and inspected a few times and nothing is carb certified, haven't had any problems. Even when i took it in to get it smoged.
