Switching to Synthetic Oil

I am about to change my oil, and I am switching to full synthetic. Is it necessary to run engine cleaner or flush the engine out before putting in the new oil? I will probably use Mobil 1. Any filter preferences?

Just switch to the Mobil 1. I went from break-in lube to Mobil 1 5W-30 and the stock Honda/Acura filter.

There are a number of people that like the Mobil and other filters.

Do a search and you should be able to find the earlier thread that mentions all of the good aftermarket filters (Mobil makes one of them).

The Mobil One filter will filter out MORE small particulates than the stock filter though! I recommend it, as you are going to be running a lot more miles between oil changes too!(10-12K)

So I am guessing the you all agree there is no need to run any kind of cleaners before switching.

Nope, just let it drain for atleast 10min. Synthetic and Non-sythetic don't mix like two dicks and no bitch.

HAHAHAHA yo man, its not two dicks and no bitch,...

its from the Notoriuos BIG, its MONEY AND BLOOD DONT MIX LIKE TO DICKS.

so in your case you gotta say, Synthetic and Non-sythetic don't mix like two dicks.

if your going to say the "no bitch" part, then you have to say the whole thing, after "no bitch" you gotta say "find yourself in seriuos shit" so this whole situation, considering there is no female involved we take out the "no bitch" part..so what we come up with is this:

"Synthetic and Non-sythetic don't mix like two dicks, find yourself in seriuos shit"

I DO think that it would be a good idea to run the 5 minute flush thru before changing oil! ...It will only help to rinse out small metal particles and sludge!

As far as Synthetic and Dinosaur oil NOT mixing --- THATS BULLSHIT!!!!

Where do you guys get your false info??? Haven't you seen the "Synthetic BLEND" oils??? - Sold by EVERY MAJOR oil company!!!

Man, some of you guys talk out of your ASS!!!

OH ya, your right. Now that I think of it, I use a blend of synthetic and non synthetic 10w30 in my Civic. I guess they do mix like a dick and a bitch.

Sorry for the falso info. I'm a confuzed individual.
