sux to be in texas
floods ruined a perfectly good car
------------------
type S killer; except for mike's car
fastest 1/4 mile: 11.32
"There is something romantic about meeting in the middle of the night, going to some all-night restaurant, laying the bets, knowing the tracks that might come clear. You're running as many quarter miles as can be, knowing the cops are coming, then scattering like cockroaches in the middle of the night."

that's Houston, not all of TX!
Up here in Dallas, we haven't seen any precipitation for over 20 days, looks a lot like last summer, 70+ days without rain...

Hum, aren't there power outages in CA? Aren't gas prices over $2.00 a gallon? Isn't the cost of living really high?
I'll take an occasional flood over that shit any day!

I understand some of the law firms in the boa building have started carrying their servers down the stairs so they can set up a temporary office and get back to work. great idea, but we're 29 floors up in a building with no lights, a/c, ventilation (those basement pumps sure crank out the carbon monoxide) and god-only-knows-what seeped in from the bayou wafting around in there.
at least I brought my laptop home...
