Supercharger Questions

I know, do a search, but nothing seem to come up for the 6 speed CL-S and comptech site dyno's includes everthing in the book.

Regarding a 6 speed CL-S. If the 0-60mph is 5.8 to 5.9 sec. and 1/4 mile is 14.4 to 14.6 sec at 96/97MPH according to motorweek, C&D and MT. What times would we get with the comptech supercharger install on the 6 speed? Could I expect to see the car drop into 5.0 sec zone from 0-60 mph and 13.7-13.8 mph in the 1/4mile. or is this all wishful thinking for such a car like our CL.

I need to know because may be for x-mas I may give myself this gift if it's worth it.

thanks in advance

that seems like reasonable estimtes. upper 5.x 0-60 and a 13.7-13.8 1/4 would be my estimates since you've already got the CT headers... A lot would be based upon wheel weight and tires though. I know we have trouble getting 60's down to 2.0-2.1 range and such due to the HLSD and intense hopping.

Look thru Smitty's posts...I believe he has both the Charger & headers on his 6 spd.

The problem, particularly with 0 - 60 times, with reducing time is traction limitations. If you are already close to you absolute traction limitations in a car and add more power your times will not get better. Regardless of the amount of power you make, you cannot accelerate quicker than what you have traction for.

So IMO, 0 - 60 times may be improved but only slightly to the mid 5's. 1320 foot ETs will be improved by about a half second. But trap speeds will be up about 7 to 8 MPH.

Now combine the SC with a proper set up for traction and you can drop you ETs over a second.

Actually there were a couple of us well before Smitty who had the SC on our 6-Speeds.

You beat me by a week. But I ordered mine a day earlier than you; you just got yours faster for some reason. :P
