stripped wheel bolt

Hey guys,

Does anyone have instructions on replacing the wheel bolt for the front wheel. I stripped both the lug nut and wheel bolt with my impact wrench.

Thanks,
Mahendra

You have to replace the stud. That requires pulling the hub. Pulling the hub requires you pulling off the wheel. Pulling off the wheel requires you drilling out your stripped lug nut.

lesson: Don't ever use an impact wrench on wheel bolts.

Dude, just get a Die< it will be easier than taken everything off. THey have Dies now that open and you can rethread from the middle of the bolt and not the start

what i used to do was use a socket like 18 or 19 mm, tap the socket onto the lugnut and use the ratchet and a breaker bar to take it off, you will need to buy another lugnut but at least it will come off.

i have done this to about a dozen vehicles just make sure the socket is soemwhat tight going onto the lugnut
