Hi guys,

Did I screw up my car:

The other day I was in second gear using the sport shift at wot. I was taking some curves and just didn't shift up to 3rd when I should have and just kept going. I noticed that the RPMs were fluctuating up and down a few 1000 RPMs ( I am guessing that was the limiter stepping in)

Then I noticed a slight burning smell for a minute.

Since that time, I am now noticing a very low sound when I accelerate. It's hard to describe but its almost like a hiss and a very slight clunking that is barely noticeable over the engine. And I hear a distinctsound when I turn off the car. Almost like a hiss, but it almost sounds like something that is spinning and is slightly scraping against something at a high speed.

I have no idea about auto repair and I just bought this car used (35k miles). Any advice would be appreciated.

And I do plan to take it to a mechanic soon, but I am temporarily disabled, so I can't sit/stand through a mechanic checking it out just yet.
